It became apparent after Dovin found his feet playing really well then getting injured last season, you won't get promoted out of this league just getting by with an average keeper.

Rushworth is class!
Yeah his handling is the thing for me. So rare to see keepers actually catch it and hold it like he does.I think hes the best weve had since westwood easily
His handling is incredible
Even down low , rarely parries ball sticks .. so impressiveYeah his handling is the thing for me. So rare to see keepers actually catch it and hold it like he does.
Yes. Lampard has called a couple of journalists out a bit where they've implied that somehow a win via a good goalkeeper performance isn't the sign of a successful team.It became apparent after Dovin found his feet playing really well then getting injured last season, you won't get promoted out of this league just getting by with an average keeper.

Lampard's most successful team as a player was under Mourinho when they went around 1,000 minutes without conceding. When you got past Gallas, Terry, Carvalho and Ferreria - you had to be Cech in goal.Yes. Which successful teams do not have a relative top class goalkeeper in reality?
And then at full time if you got past Cech you had to worry about Terry getting through to your missusLampard's most successful team as a player was under Mourinho when they went around 1,000 minutes without conceding. All top teams need good goalkeepers because the opposition will fashion chances no matter how flawless the tactics.
A lot of the early comments were harsh, especially v Oxford where it's easy to criticise a wall being in the 'wrong' place after a team scores from it.He had his critics for some errors of judgment yesterday, but some of his saves were as good as I've seen from a City keeper and definitely not ones made by a Wilson or a Collins.
As Wayne Bridge found out...And then at full time if you got past Cech you had to worry about Terry getting through to your missus
Love Rushworth. Was brilliant yesterday. Made world class saves that won us the match, yet made two schoolboy errors.
The mis kick where Kitch cleared it and the pen.
I like goalies who commit. He is especially good on corners, but coming off his line to close down play was poor in those instances. However, he closed them down twice rushing out and stopped certain goals.
We need to get the defence (or midfield) sorted to stop teams playing through the lines.
As someone who has seen Glazier, Blyth, Sealey, Hedman (before the coke years), Kirkland and Oggy, I am always surprised that people think Westwood was a great goalie. Nowhere near as good as the aforementioned. Must be you youngsters.
