When this inevitably gets moved to a Tuesday in Jan/Feb, I'd love for the club to do some form of deal. Whether it be knocking back the prices to £20 or allowing fans with tickets to bring a friend on the cheap.

Complicated with the away fans and their ticket sales, granted. I know Preston brought in a last minute deal against Derby.

Spurs will plenty of tickets back on sale. Clearly many people do not want to go to the football at the moment.

Even if the two home fixtures go ahead next week, the drop in revenue will be huge. We could lose 10,000 fans across two games.

Two games that could have been big crowds.

That tweet seems to blame it on vaccine passports. They may have an impact but I suspect the majority of people not attending at the moment are more concerned about the variant and how it might impact on their Christmas plans that having to show a QR code.

It was in the US so won't be accurate for here, and pre Omicron, but read an article in Billboard recently that on average 40% of ticket holders are no showing at concerts.

If we start seeing those sort of reductions here that would be a significant impact on income.

Tiny following from Birmingham at Blackburn.

However, Ipswich have their biggest crowd in 6 years today!

Was at the Brentford vs Chelsea game last night.

They did Covid checks outside before getting to turnstiles.

Literally just showed them covid passport...no verification of names or I'd checks.

Really was literally a 5 second process.

It’s such a dereliction of duty to not stop and restart

It's 6 days until the Millwall game. Meaning if players tested positive they should be out of isolation after 7 days.

Excuses running out for these teams.

This is where it gets silly, assuming milwall is off we now have three extra games to fit in despite having no cases.

Will be midweek too so less walk up and reduced income (milwall was already midweek but it’s Xmas).

Keep coming back to the same debate but if the league is carrying on then teams need to supplement missing players with u21/development squads.

If they stop and restart when do they go again as this could go on for weeks and weeks, I can’t see the Millwall game being on so why would you buy a ticket for a game that you don’t know when it will be played.

Sods law says we will eventually get a few cases ourselves its inevitable.

Then there will be a real pile up.

Yeah can write Milwall off too. Fuck sake.

On the plus side, my daughter (in her first season) is genuinely gutted about the Stoke and inevitably the Millwall postponements. And I was worried she would hate it. Seems she has the bug

They apparantly had enough back in training the other day. So it's another new cluster.

There is one apparently.

14 players with a keeper and the game should be on.

Are clubs not following protocols now?

I’d be amazed if these teams genuinely don’t have 14 players fit.

If the manager thinks his squad is being stretched, I would have thought it would be easy to add a player to the injured category (who would normally have played with a 'niggle') to get the game called off. Easy to 'manipulate' if you feel the need to? How often do we hear managers say that x player has been playing with a niggle for the last few weeks?

Sorry a process for a delay in the season.

Hope we don't end up with a Rotherham situation. Through no fault of our own (so far), we could be playing a lot of games in a short period of time that affects our league poistion.

There's not enough spare time at the end of the season to enable a delay - what if they take a 4 week break and there is no improvement n cases? You'd then have teams with a ridiculous backlog - especially those who are already a game or two behind, Can't happen for that alone imo.

Just had this thought - might it already be better to get knocked out of the FA Cup as early as possible/ (never thought I'd even entertain that idea) - on one hand need the prize money, on the other hand, don't want the extra fixtures. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Only if you could guarantee promotion instead. You can't do that though so we should therefore take the FA Cup seriously, progress as far as we can in it, and hope the club can make some good money that might make MR's job a little easier down the line.

Agreed - we might have to let our league position suffer slightly for financial gain through prize money. Tough call, and potential firther drop in attendances if league for suffers (assuming crowds don't slump anyway?!!) Need a crystal ball.

We should have all players available to train on Monday , today was last day of training , the players have the next 3 days off , so unless we have a huge amount on Monday report with positive tests , which could happen , we should be okay . Millwall appear to have 2 groups of players being positive so it depends how that develops

I’d imagine there will be a huge sell online now we have shown premier ambition by signing Jamie Allen for a few more years
