You know what, I am very confident about next week.

We were scoring for fun earlier in the season and we do still have that ability, but it's not just happening right now.

I think when the goals start going in, the floodgates might open again, at least for a while.

Confidently predicting a 3-1 win against Leicester

Haha so predictable that people are losing their heads

Today was a decent outcome. Esse and Yang looked promising, no one got injured and we don’t have any more distractions from the league.

Honestly the pace of the game was like a preseason friendly, felt like both teams knew it wasn’t the focus.

Not a bad day altogether. It was obvious what Esse can do but Minny also had a decent 1st game. Neither looked out.of place with the way we play. Esse looks like he will slot straight in and be an asset from the start.

A totally makeshift side against a strong Stoke side was still a close game. We need to get some stability back in our defence but otherwise happy to go out the way we did.

At this point I would probably look to add another striker for the run in.

The new signings look very good though and no one got injured.

I agree. King needs to get on the blower to Wilson. Perhaps literally if that's what it takes.

Wilson is ideal.

Then £5m+ on a midfielder and then a few mil on a LB

I only managed to watch the second half, my main positive from it is that we can now rest legs and focus on the league. Esse and Yang-Min both look like they're going to be good additions, Esse in particular impressed me. He was consistently making nuisance and his cross for Wright was immense.

Fair play to all the SBA who made the journey to what was always going to be a bit of a damp squib. Roll on Leicester!

I Really like Andrews and think he should have gone on loan.
The ability, and the rawness, were there for everyone to see today.

Just a reminder that our three strikers have scored 10, 9 and 8 this season.

That’s the forward positions covered, new lads looked really good and wer’e never going to be 100% happy with the squad but possibly another CM and def another defender wouldn’t hurt, just gives us every chance of staying top 2

That’s great news. I’m still thinking that it will click soon for wright and rudi. Throw in the new lads and we’ve got some quality attacking options

I'm perfectly fine with that today.

Only lost by a single worldie of a goal without the need for extra time, and we now don't have any extra fixtures to distract and tire us during our run for promotion.
We don't seem to have picked up any injuries or suspensions.
We managed to give a much needed rest to a large number of first choice players, meaning we could give much needed minutes to squad players and the two new lads against a reasonably decent opposition.
Yang and Esse looked decent enough (and Esse got to try out two positions) and we can now rotate the wingers when needed.

Only downsides are Wright wasn't able to get out of his goal drought, and he and Rudoni, who are supposed to be two of our best players, look massively out of sorts and nowhere near the level of performance we need from them. I guess there is also the defence looked a bit vulnerable, especially as the two CB's will be playing the next two league games together as well.

Difficult one to acknowledge but I would say yes.
One thing's for sure, going out of the cup today won't be the cause of any (if any) negative impact we may suffer for the remainder of the season.

What’s actually happened to wright ? It’s like we’ve got the play off version, i’ll stick with him because he’s always got something in him, but bloody hell, he’s hiding it well, can we afford to stick with him ?

Haji hitting the post from a yard out today sums it up really. Im disappointed to lose, you always want to win but ill be over it by tonight.

Liked Andrews, as ol Sparks says, loan him to L1. He can handle it and will learn.

Esse grew into it. Again, Haji is on a real low of confidence, that header desperately needed to go in
I am a little reluctant to loan out Andrews. Think he could play a role in the remaining matches. Unless we get more players in this window that would require us to free up slots.

He was decent today in a glorified friendly but needs decent playing time in L1 I think.

He looks much better in that position then when he's stuck out wide.

Very composed on the ball.

Needs playing time and we need a real star midfielder to drag us by the bollocks over the line
