Stoke at home, first game of the season playing one of the tipped sides for promotion, of course they’re going to be up for it and come out with everything they’ve got.
disappointing about our poor start, nervy and sitting deep but let’s see what MR does at HT.

Hopefully will turn out to be a much different second half. PUSB!

Need more strength in midfield. Shows the importance of sheaf and Eccles. Presume Eccles unfit or he would have surely started. Will probably play bit better second half and hopefully get couple goals.

Stoke look bouyant. We look very muted. But MR has always played it safe first half, then gone for it more in the second. Expect a 0-0 now, but wouldn't be surprised if we turn it on a little more in the second half.

I’d be tempted to bring Eccles on for Allen and maybe B.T.A. for Torp after 15/20 mins to play as a 10 / off Simms in more of a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1

Wright for EMC after 70 ish if you want, but I think EMC still has a big part to play in the 2nd half

Grateful to be going in 0 - 0 at half time.

Stoke have a great press and are strong. Our midfield are struggling - obvious change is Allen off - Eccles on.

What we do have is a fantastic bench. And a good pre season behind us. So hopefully confident team talk and a good second half.

Wouldn't mind seeing Sakamoto and EMC asking for the ball more.

Expected a tough game today... pre-match prediction was 1-1 when I saw the line up. Wouldn't be that surprised if MR puts on Lati in midfield eventually rather than Eccles (not saying he should, just think he might opt for him because of the more physical side of his game).
