Allen and Eccles for me. But I like Torp and don’t have a problem if he starts.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Rudoni and EMC in their first competitive matches for us. I’m not sure if EMC will start but if not I hope Robins gives him 30 minutes, as he will be great against a tiring defence.

I read it as “He will start Wright” the “not fit enough yet” bit referring to EMC.

On reflection I think you meant “He (meaning EMC) will start” with the “not fit enough yet” bit referring to Wright.

I really hope we go and play today rather than try not to concede for an hour then play well last 30 ..

Last season we were so passive first 45 we conceded first often and were chasing games

Indeed! Think of the difference between:

"He will start, Wright not fit enough yet"; and

"He will start Wright, not fit enough yet".

In the first one EMC starts, in the second it's Wright.

I don't get why some dislike Allen. He's a very sound player who gives his all every game.

Robins seems to like him as well and I trust his judgement.

I’m by no means the biggest Allen fan, but I actually think he’ll excel in this formation.

Excited to see a pre-season behind him Torp too.

I like Allen, only concern is that Torp & Allen don't give as much cover defensively as Eccles.

Eccles, whilst improving massively last season, looks poor without Sheaf. Alongside Sheaf, Eccles is able to play more freely, advance more. When Sheaf isn't alongside him Eccles never seems as assured for me

However what it does show is we absolute need another CM in. An injury to Sheaf and we're starting Jamie Allen

Allen started in 80% of the games in the play off season, it's bizarre how he's looked at as some weak link
