He's been a regular for over a year and a half in that role though. Last season Sheaf was playing further forward than him in most matches. I know some on here don't rate Eccles, although I do wonder sometimes if they are the same person. I would be very surprised if Eccles doesn't remain first choice as Robins clearly rates him very highly.Not sure he's shown that he can do what Sheaf does and anchor a midfield three. I'm a big fan of Eccles. I'm saying that at the minute, if everyone's fit, he doesn't start. If Sheaf goes, or is out for a while, he's first replacement atm. He has a chance to make that spot his own.
