My thinking is that Thorn said he hopes 2-3 more players in over the next few weeks. 2 of that is Jennings and Edge probably.

The 3rd would be the striker who Thorn said he hoped would be in after Scotland trip.

To get a proven goalscorer is going to cost money. There aren't any prolific scorers around on a free to my knowledge.

The striker hold up must be due to Keogh sale. Once that deal is complete i suspect some money will be given to buy a striker.

Shame we missed out on Collins though.

I think Francois Zoko may be a good option

A goal every 5 games in L1 is his record and not really what we need. Maybe as a squad player but he isn't a prolific goalscorer. That is what we need.

Izale Mcleod has only really done it in league 2 with Barnet and also had some issues of the pitch which apparently have been put behind him which has helped him during last season. Craig Beattie would get goals in league 1 for sure. I'd be interested to see if we could get in someone like Lee Barnard who has failed to get a sniff at Southampton and certainly won't now.

Beattie is crap. Definitely not the answer. I mentioned Barnard recently. We were linked with him a few years back so I presume Thorn knows all about him.

If these 2 sign (admittedly this is without having seen either of them play) - I think we need 2 strikers and maybe a pacey winger. I wouldn't be surprised if we only make maybe another 1 signing and then look to use the loan market in September.

Agreed on strikers but we're sorted for pacy wingers, there's a couple of great ones in the youth team

He's got pace though, decent touch, and was a great prospect and U21 International before he went off the rails. I remember him having a great game for Derby against us what seems an eternity ago. He's just the sort of player we should be looking to sign-untapped potential, getting his career back on track, a striker, fast. He's pretty much my dream signing given our situation. After someone European and better

Don't like the lad but Chris Martin at Norwich is available for loan. Smashed them in for fun in league 1 but struggled to get a start in champ and prem. spent last few weeks on loan at palace last season. Think he scored about 20-25 in league 1 a couple of years ago. Big strong lad with 2 good feet

I hate all Chris Martin's with the exception of the New Zealand RFM bowler. The Norwich one is a horrible whining cheat, and the Coldplay one..well, is a horrible whining cheat!

Had a good season on loan down @ Palace ,Actually thought he'd signed with them ,Reports Burnley are interested as Rodriguez replacement,A 20+ per season player no doubt.

I bet that is a wonderful feeling, seeing a player in your team scoring near 20 goals a season. Oh well, here's hoping we can find one.

I am not entirely lacking faith but he had a lot to prove. He is at an age where he should be established but still is an unknown quantity and his fitness levels are a concern.
