Pulled out today with a "Knock", that's what the CET did, put the knock in inverted commas.. Perhaps I'm reading too much into that!

To be honest I did wonder why we took this guy on trial and announced it when they kept malaga's name under wraps. Jennings had a number of teams interested in him. We should have signed him straight away.

I hope it doesn't mean we've lost out but it doesn't look good. Although players to get Knocks now and again do who knows it might be a genuine injury.

I would imagine it is a genuine knock. If he was off we'd find about it anyway so I'm sure they wouldn't make up an injury. Hope we do get him, sounds useful.

I feel a bit dubious bout any deal now. And to be honest think the first site to break the story was BBC so it may have been his agent leaking the info to try and get a better deal/other clubs interested. Hope this comes off, feel we need this type of player for next season.

He must have a slight injury. If he was looking elsewhere why would there be any secrecy he would just leave and move on.

His agent could be doing talking behind the scenes. But say for example a championship team is currently negotiating a contract with his agent, they don't want/need to take him on trial, surely they would be asking for him to pull out of any friendlies so not to scupper the deal.

To be fair that is probably right, AT would of said we are looking at other targets or something like that, there's no reason to make an injury up

To be fair he is probably protecting himself. No contract with anybody what if the worst happens and he is out long term = no income.

Didn't thorn say there was no strains, knocks or pulls in the squad just yesterday? So, sadly I do feel a little suspicious. Hopefully for no reason though.

Surely tho if we want to sign him its in our interests not to risk injury too. He may well have picked up the injury in training yesterday.

They've done two practice matches in the last two days ,completely conceivable he picked one up yesterday.

This is like whenever Westwood was out injured he'd apparently signed for someone else. Was always back in the side next time out.

So if he's not playing and has impressed sign him up. If not just let him go. If Malaga gets a 3 year deal on 1 training session then Jennings can't have impressed much as he's been on trial all week?

But ,Jennings could have had his "knock" ten minutes after the interview. He can't see into the future, can he? Now, if I look out my window I can safely say that it's not raining, but does that means if it rains later then I was lying?

Putting "knock" in the paper just means it's a direct quote doesn't it?! How to make a mountain out of a mole hill!

I hope so. Not that I'll know what he looks like if he is there for the games. Might have to google him to get an idea

I am pretty sure that Malaga was not signed off the back of a solitary training session.

An update on Steve Jennings...

Even though he hasn't travelled up to Scotland he is still at Ryton and doing fitness work with Cameron and Deegan.

To me this signals that he is signing and we are just waiting for him to get fit. Where's Cody btw, training with these three?

Yup.... cody catching up as well.

I think Jennings is pretty certain as well as Edjenguele. Probably be sorted by the time squad returns from Scotland.

If these 2 sign (admittedly this is without having seen either of them play) - I think we need 2 strikers and maybe a pacey winger. I wouldn't be surprised if we only make maybe another 1 signing and then look to use the loan market in September.

If Jennings is at Ryton i would say its positive about him signing, my only hope is we add another 3 which is the CB on trial and 2 FW. Losing Keogh is a blow but i never thought he was staying anyway cash in replace and add we will be ok....

My thinking is that Thorn said he hopes 2-3 more players in over the next few weeks. 2 of that is Jennings and Edge probably.

The 3rd would be the striker who Thorn said he hoped would be in after Scotland trip.

To get a proven goalscorer is going to cost money. There aren't any prolific scorers around on a free to my knowledge.

The striker hold up must be due to Keogh sale. Once that deal is complete i suspect some money will be given to buy a striker.

Shame we missed out on Collins though.
