He won't be coming here as we will not be approaching him. The suggestions lacks any logic. Shrewsbury are the other team to do the double on us so perhaps the geriatric graham turner is on the radar. I suppose at least he has experience.

It would be a turn up if we can pay compo and hire an employed manager when next time round we may struggle to pay current staff!!!!!! Even having 40 plus applicants means nothing as when it does come to interviews what can CCFC promise any manager..

Crewe have already had a massive bearng on our season losing the manager to us is something i cant see happening, im sure we will end up with Barmby or Curle both will be willing to work with limited resources to get back in the game...

If offered it a manager of Crewe would take the Coventry job whatever the circumstance.

Completely agree. And despite all our problems we would offer a better salary and bigger playing budget. That's 2 big reasons to move. Plus our youth academy is just as good as Crewe have.

Pretty sad that we have crewe supporters on our forum, we dont want your manager so fook right off. Id rather have a manager that attacks as we did all 4 games than someone that parks the bus, and the train. Havent you's got your own forum.

Not necessarily true, you should see the list of clubs dario turned down over the years, big clubs in far better financial circumstances than Coventry find themselves at present.

Your academy is just as good as ours, I'd be surprised if one other person in England agreed with that statement. 2 players sold to villa and united for total of £8 million in the past year. Which academy product in your first team comes close to the ability of Luke Murphy?

Do they not have schools in Crewe? To be fair, the comment about the youth system is wrong. Crewe have a long and creditable history of turning out good youth players and selling them on to survive. I would love to have some of the players they have produced over the years.

On another note, I have never seen so many opposition fans from one team on our forum. Some of their fans really took the JPT video to heart. That was nothing more than a simple marketing ploy to get more fans in for the game. And it worked.

way too much praise for crewe imo

we battered them in jpt home leg-they ONLY got 3 goals because of dunn. at worst it would have been a 1 nil loss and even then unlucky

we beat them away although they did their job for 91 mins well

and in last home game we battered them again,we dont take our chances and they do

hes done well but i dont see anything to suggest hes a tactical guru, we are very unlcuky not to have 2/3 wins vs this guy

I have written no ill - informed shite about your team so get your facts right, and again fook right off. You know yous were lucky, you know your keeper had 2 fantastic games, you know we had 40 attempts at your goal in only 2 games and yet you think your the better team id say theres something wrong with your head, away and get it checked son

Sorry. Misread as the ones we have recently sold. Connor Thomas is the obvious one currently in and around our first team. Then there is Cyrus Christie & Jordan Clarke. Callum Wilson just coming through. Then there is current England under-19 captain Jordan Willis. Nathan Cameron (who I personally am still not sure about). Then lets not forget Gary McSheffrey, although he is now at the wrong end of his career.

I'm talking about current players but if you want to go into history:

Full England internationals: David Platt, Danny Murphy, Seth Johnson, Dean Ashton, Rob Jones, Geoff Thomas.

Others (to name a few) include: Neil Lennon, Robbie Savage, Nick Powell, Ashley Westwood, Billy Jones, David Vaughan, Rob Hulse, Craig Hignett.

Not a bad bunch, you could make a half decent side out of those lads I reckon, 10 full internationals, all played in the premier league, 5 currently with Premier League clubs.

I could reel off an even longer list of ex players that were internationals that came through our ranks but we were a prem club. For a club of your size you have an enviable record, and you are clearly rightly proud of that, but to say it is better than ours would be false. At the end of the day our academies are both currently graded, I believe, as category 2. If you really want to carry on with this when I get home later I can give you a list if the players we have had come through who are current and/or past internationals.

Well according to Wikipedia you've only had 4 England internationals (and that's who've played for you, not who have been developed by you) and I suppose you could add Sturridge to that list although he joined City (Manchester) very early on and was at Villa before Coventry. I would be very interested to read your list of international players who have been developed by the Youth set-up at Coventry, although from the brief look i've had I'd be very surprised if it stands up to the list above.

Didn't Lennon come through Man City youth system? Seem to remember him being there as a kid (I watched a lot of youth football when I was a kid).

And the list he looked at was those with international caps whilst playing for us which is very different to coming from youth team. We will have far more from youth team.

Yes but we have to have to have some kind of quality filter on the issue, I mean how much can you learn about the quality of a club's academy by the number of players they have developed for Wales or Ireland or Zimbabwe, not exactly powers in world football are they? I would suggest the acid test is number of full England internationals. You're right Lennon was at City, where he was failing, he then moved to Crewe and after working under Gradi went on to win the league cup twice with Leicester, 5 SPLs with Rangers and become captain of his country. Similarly with Platt and Savage, who were both rejected by United as youngsters but after working with Gradi went on to highly successful careers, in the case of Platt, successful being an understatement.
