Couldnt even remember who he was actually contracted to, but hes still at Chelsea, bombed out, no shirt number, no loans
Wiki says : "Sterling was completely exiled from the squad, being forced to train separately and barred from the main club facilities" - sounds pretty brutal when i assume hes done nothing wrong

Its a spectacular fall from grace for him, I know he has had some horrendous issues. He seems a decent enough lad hope he can get back to some sort of form

Another one for SUFC? Would Lampard use him as cover? Doubt it. He’s training in the bomb squad.

About £28 million left on his contract. Whatever happens he’s not going to take a chunk off that money.

He probably hasn't done anything wrong, he just isn't what the manager wants in a winger.

He did the same to Chilwell because he isn't a full back that inverts but luckily fr him her found a club to go to.

You joke but I have been wondering whether that might be too unrealistic?* He’s likely to have had some crossover with Lampard playing for England.

*The answer is yes, btw.

What a chance to rebuild his career, and become a star player in the Prem again.

I have no idea whether he is still up to it or would fit the way we play but if Lampard wants him then I could see him coming in on loan with us paying just a part - probably quite a small part - of his wages. Personally I don’t think it will happen.

Have people lost their minds?

Raheem Sterling joining a Championship club who would struggle to cover 5% of his wages. There would be loads of clubs in European competition who would take him and be able to cover more of his wages. Even then there's the Saudi superdollars who would take him and probably offer him a pay rise!

Crazy that he's only 30, feels like he's been around forever! Should be around his peak, or just past it, not getting bombed out like this.

Congratulations, I really didn't think you could come up with anything more fucking ridiculous than your Patrick Bamford nonsense, but somehow you've even managed to surpass that!!!

Fucking unbelievably hilarious, I can only assume your deliberately taking the absolute piss now.

I think it’s a ‘miles on the clock’ thing given he’s been playing regular PL football since 16.

I think he's one of those players that came through so early and played so much football that his peak happened earlier. It's similar to players like Rooney and Michael Owen.

£325,000 a week and not playing is absolutely mental. What a life.

Surprised a Saudi team haven't had a punt. Or Wrexham

If you look at a lot of the Brazilian superstars that break through at a young age, most of them are done at a meaningful level by 30. Although part of it will be down to the stereotypical party lifestyle.

Honestly - I wouldn’t say it’s out of the question. He’s got 2 years left - if we covered 25k a week and had an obligation to buy in the summer if we go up. I reckon Chelsea would go for it.

Sterling taking a 200k pay cut in the event he joins us permently is another question entirely

Yeah, I can see him peaking or just burning out in his early/mid twenties.
Probably after winning a few more things with Barcelona and Spain, and then fading out

i do wonder if they just burn out, or theyve got nothing to drive them forward - some players they have won it all by the age of 23, what spurs them onto so it all over again when theyre getting paid 250k+ a week?

Can I just say, I would take a 200k pay cut to pay for the City, so there may be some mileage in this one
