2 wins from 19 isn't it?

I've forgotten what winning feels like......how DO we win anyway? We have to score more goals than the opposition, right? By kicking that round thingy over the white line, yeah?

In 1995 / 96 we won 2 of our first 18 games in the season and looked down and out so in theory survival is possible - we finished 16th

Thank God for people like kduffy! I really thought that this was our worst start ever. That has actually given me a bit of hope!

Sorry to piss on that optimistic note, but we spent money to get out of that hole, we bought....
02/96 Liam Daish DF Birmingham City
02/96 Eoin Jess FW Aberdeen FC
12/95 Noel Whelan FW Leeds United
11/95 Richard Shaw DF Crystal Palace

I don't think that concept is in SISU's plans.......at the moment

What a Killjoy. And of those 4 that season it was Whelan who made the difference, magnificant in a 5 - 0 hammering of Blackburn. We were in the bottom 4 for virtually the whole campaign though and needed 11 points from the last 6 games to hang on.

Ha ha I remember Leeds selling Whelan to us as they signed Thomas Brolin. Whelan came to us, scored for fun and saved us from relegation and Brolin was useless. I have a mate who supports Leeds and always said that they never should have let Whelan go.

back on subject isn't 2 in 19 worse than 2 in 18? Is this actually statistically our worst ever run?

Yeah, that is why I can't get myself to feel agrieved about our current position. I would no longer call it pretty football just keep ball, if I was playing for the opposition I wouldn't be busting my balls to win it back when they are winning and we have the ball in our own half

AT is saying we haven't been trounced by anyone yet (would beg to differ in terms of Ipswich), but the obvious reason for this is that we have the ball half the time and therefore the opposition can't score. Doesn't do us any good whatsoever though cos when we've got it we do fook all with it.

I think that the team has forgotten how to win let alone the fans...... losing like winning can almost become a habit

There is a good argument to say that losing or failure has become the prevailing attitude at CCFC

No AT never said we hadn't been trounced - he said we havent been getting beat by 3 or 4 every week.

Wasn't it 1 win in 18 or 19 before Boothroyd got the sack?

Also didn't Gary McAllister have 1 win in 21 (against Grimsby) at the end of his first season in charge?

If I remember, up until about Christmas that year we'd been up with the play-off contenders, and then we just fell to pieces. It's been a recurring story as well. We do well up until about halfway through the season, then seem to struggle to put a second half of the season together.

Maybe Coventry really only do ever do things by half?
