Makes you wonder why the SISU statement was so aggressive, it was not a statement about talking, it was more like trying to make the council seem unreasonable.

SISU's statement was not designed to build bridges - that does not seem to be their way. I believe it is aimed at trying to leverage, what appears to be the pro-SISU reports and protest at the Council by Les Reid, to get the fans putting more pressure onto the Council. It does appear to have back-fired badly.

But let me be clear, the clock is ticking and time is moving on. I will not lead the Council into a state of paralysis around this issue. Difficult times call for difficult decisions. If this matter cannot be resolved by the turn of the year, then I and all of my colleagues on the Labour Group on Coventry City Council will look to put in place a process which ensures the best possible deal for the people of Coventry in relation to the Ricoh Arena.

This is the sting in the tail of the Lucas statement, basically she is saying we won't be held to ransom & if Seppala can't agree something sensible this year she can build her new stadium, we'll use the Ricoh & the surrounding land for the people of Coventry.

I agree.. I've had enough of Joy's emotional blackmail.

the Council simply can not help themselves can they!!

" absolutely right that we should try to avoid 'tit for tat' press releases "

THE STUPID COUNCIL TRASH THEN GOES ONTO MAKE 7 TIT FOR TAT POINTS IN PROLONGED PARAGRAPHS BEFORE FINALLY SUMMISING!!!

PATHETIC THE COUNCIL ARE - THEY REALLY ARE. ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO WAS WAS RELEASE EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING:

THE COUNCIL ARE HAPPY TO MEET WITH THE CLUB TO DISCUSS THE SALE OF THE RICOH ARENA

OR

THE COUNCIL IS REFUSING TO MEET WITH THE CLUB TO DISCUSS THE SALE OF THE RICOH
THE CLUB WANT TO BUY - SELL UP COVENTRY CITY COUNCIL BEFORE THE FANS OF THIS CLUB TAKE MORE DIRECT ACTION - MAYBE NOT PAYING THEIR COUNCIL TAX UNTIL YOU REFUND THE £14,000,000 YOU STOLE FROM YOUR TAX PAYERS WITHOUT ANY PUBLIC CONSULTATION[/COLOR]

It's all open to interpretation. To my way of thinking...SISU have been provocative (even this latest statement), & delaying things...CCC do not appear to have changed their stance. If you want to talk about the RICOH with us...the option is to there - get in touch. SISUs game now appears to me to be an attempt to perhaps delay any future agreements that ACL might make regarding the RICOH use by any other regular use (concerts(?), rugby(?) or whatever they may be trying to rustle up). So I think CCC (AL as-in) are right to stick to their guns. Time must be running out for SISU bringing the club back to the Ricoh as contracts starting next summer will need to be wrapped up early 2014.

The roads are dangerous, the elderly are left to freeze with no local authority help, try having Alzheimers and watch the council come after your house after working all your life.. and the list goes on and on and on - the disgraceful service our local authority provides in Coventry - and you misses the point - its about those in glass houses - shouldn't throw stones! so get off your high horse and stop trying to be emotive over something you clearly do not understand properly

to clarify SkyblueBazza im talking about the fact that the council are absolutely hardball, they could not care less about the club or the fans, like they dont care about children, the elderly and the infirm, the homeless and those in need, they are so inadequate - you have to know of the cases we see to realise just how terrible the council are - im not advertising the campaign friend. Im so sick of hearing about the big bas sisu and otium - the council have been wholly to blame for this debacle from the very start - you can not beat the local authority - they will never give in - that is the way of the country now - they are so powerful now. Thats waht i need to clarify - this is a game for Ms Lucas nothing more, its about her power -- read her list - she is living in cloud cuckoo land demanding the billionaire Joy Sepalla make herself available for the leader of the council. who does Anne think she is? the Queen?

COMPARE

Ann Lucas was born in Coventry in July 1949 and has lived here all her life. She has been married for 43 years to Ray, has two children - Claire, a teacher at a local school, and Ray jnr, a salesman - and six grandchildren.

She joined the Labour party in 1978 and was the union rep at Whitley Council between 1967-72. She was the GMB (hotel and catering) shop steward between 1978 and 1988. She is Chair of the Bablake Ward Labour Party, and the vice-chair of Coventry North West Labour Party. She is also a member of the National Policy Forum, which gives grass root political input to shadow ministers at Westminster. She is a member of Labours National Executive Committee and is National Champion for domestic violence issues. She was a member of Coventry City Council for Bablake between 1995-99, and was re-elected in 2000 (in Holbrook).

Ann lists her interests as reading, politics, dancing, socialising, and eating out. She is a Coventry City Football Club fan, is a season ticket holder and has been going to Highfield Road (and now the Ricoh!) since 1962.

She has had a flying lesson, joined a white water rafting team to raise funds for cystic fibrosis and has done a parachutrejump to raise funds for Baby Lifeline.

Really - can you provide a link to one of the cases you've been involved in please? I think you're lying, frankly, but I'm always happy to proven wrong.

You don't have to surrender your anonymity for this, obviously. Many JR judgements seem to be anonymised, as below, and I'm presuming that you weren't the directly injured party in any case. Just dig us one of those out.

Actually Ann Lucas has more power than the Queen. She is our elected representative, and some of your remarks show very little regard for our democratic processes.

I fail to see what the mini this is your life episode featuring Joy and Ann has to do with anything.

Im also confused as to what your point is as well if I'm being honest.

You claim to be annoyed about council cuts, yet seem to want them to give away a multi million pound venue for free?

Timmy, lets be clear. The CCC did not give City the 10 pts deduction. JS SISU and you Timmy did.

Clr Lucas is a City fan of Many years standing. JS is an invisible character who admits to not knowing or caring about football, and didn't even take part in the purchase of the Club. That says it all really
And as for tit for tat. Remind me who came out with the statement to the CT that is now being seen as factually incorrect and just Bluster.

Timmy boy, have a chat with the wench. Tell her to get her arse up to Coventry and talk to Clr Lucas. We the people of Coventry Challenge her to put her verbosity and bluster aside and talk. Something she seems to have neither the spine nor wisdom to do
