That gap between Doyle and Kelly is very telling about how far Doyle's fallen off

If we could get Ogogo up and playing as I believe he can I think a Kelly/Ogogo partnership would be okay, Shrewsbury fans love him, he must still be carrying that injury

I've said for years and last season that Doyle doesn't win the ball very often and is a poor tackler, he always has been even in his first spell. He's good at closing space down but interceptions and winning the ball he is not.

I think sending Ogogo out on loan to someone who can cover some of his wages and get time in his legs ready for next season could be a good option.

I could go along with that if getting him fit, by that I mean match fit would help us long term, can you loan players out for a month or so under these new transfer rules ?

Not a massive fan of Doyle and he has dropped off dramatically since his ‘injury’ but that chart is ALL the midfielders in League 1-top interceptions etc.

Yes Kelly is better but Doyle still in top 20

So this could show that we don’t have enough of the ball and have to rely on legging it about after other teams trying to nick the ball off them.

We need a stat on the woeful lack of goals and assists from our midfield. Before Christmas, Bayliss only had 1 goal and 1 assist.

I'll put it out there.

I don't think stats like this are really that helpful.

Kelly-
Doyle- 1 goal 1 assist
Andreu- 1 goal
Bayliss 2 goals 3 assists
Jones- 1 goal
Thomas- 2 goals 3 assists
Hiwula( Only when playing LW)- 3 goals 1 assist

The others have none. I think that is all correct.

Horrendous really.

We have all moaned about the poor returns from our strikers but it's clear there isn't enough from our midfield.

Does that count as an assist? I thought it was a save that went back out to Doyle?

It was Jones's initial shot. I would have thought that that would give him the assist. Otherwise there is no assist or one is credited to the opposing keeper which I don't think he would want.

Dont think a shot being saved counts as an assist.

Not sure if this is anywhere else but there's also this graph.

The analyst writes 'Coventry City have the highest under performance in the league. Over 13 goals below the chance quality they create. If they find a way to regress to that number they could pop in 2nd half of season'

According to the experts on here we're really defensive

Apparently not, we just struggle putting away our chances.

Maybe it's all just Luke Thomas..
