I personally think this is a squad that can push for promotion next season but that's if we get Jennings or another CM as I think that we really need one. Everyone on here always includes Hussey on here in there starting 11 but I don't see what he really does?... Ok he has a sweet left foot but has no pace and doesn't like to tackle and kilbane will give much needed experience. So I ask... What's your prefured starting 11?

I also think city may need another striker but they wont spend any money from the keogh deal cause that money will just keep us alive so... What strikers are going around on a free at the moment?

Looks like Wood's leaving and we haven't signed Jennings yet, also Mcsheffrey would be awful in that LCM role in a diamond.

thats my first 11,dont think wed need to add to that,its title winning imo as far as first 11 goes in league 1,lets hope we sign jennings

hes a complete second 11,is it really that bad? not imo,although some of my views are solely on youtube and pre season highlights

maybe midtable/lower midtable? if WORSE came to WORSE could probably still pick up a few points for us,and it prob woudnt ever come to that many changes.

You putting these 2 sides up makes me realise we gave quite a bit of strength in depth.a striker and a winger or middy and were good

thanks and yes i agree,were nearly set

jsut realised none of my 2 teams include ball,so thats even more strength in depth we have!

GARy Gardner went back to Villa CCFC4 Louis GARNER currently is only youth so will need to sign his pro forms i'm guessing

I'd go 4-3-3 with fleck pushing on Thomas and Kilbane holding back. If Jennings signed id put Kilbane left back and Jennings in a holding role. Not sure how McDonald would do in a wider position than normal

Obviously could be way off, Ball/Brown could be gems and I only have the performance of Hinckley to go on here for the new signings. Also I haven't included Jennings as he hasn't signed but i'd replace Thomas and use him as back up but who knows this year could be his year or Kilbane's legs might have gone. In terms of improving that team, I think Baker should be replaced, a man with pace and can beat a man but also with execution as well would complete that team but you cannot just get them on a free transfer. Maybe even a replacement for Cody if we can get a better one, but again he could have an amazing season and score 20+ goals.

I think I'm in a small camp of people who think Baker should stay this season. If he can do for us what he did for Stockport in League One when we have a stronger squad than them he should be like a new signing hopefully. Of course hopefully isn't whats needed for a promotion season, we need certainly. But with his experience in this league and being a top player in it once before I think its worth sticking him around.

What I'd like to see..

Not sure as to whether Fleck can play on the right or not but this would mean Kilbane dropping in with jennings whilst defending to ensure we dont get over run through the middle.
That side has the perfect balance of experience and kids IMO with an average age of about 25

More likely that we will see two CM's with Kilbane in the middle and one stiker up top

As for what we need, for me an experienced striker, a centre mid (loanee) and a young left back for the development squad (top club reject or non leaguer)
