Yes, there are overheads which will need to be factored in but we'll have full control over F&B and parking on match days, as well as perhaps some of the stadium's sponsorship - revenue which we didn't have full access to previously.

It also positions the club into a hugely attractive asset to investors which have much greater financial weight than DK, hopefully with the aspirations and means of not only just getting to the PL (or keeping us there depending on where we're at), but developing us into a competitive outfit such as Brighton, Brentford, Forest etc.

There's not a single logical argument to suggest this is a negative thing, not after what we've been through over the past 15-20 years.

yeah, if we maintain big crowds, money can be made. More importantly it removes the risk of us being ripped off/blackmailed by a landlord

What income? Ashley never made a penny on it a the two previous owners went bust.

We weren’t going to get kicked out Sisu proved there’s no alternative for either.

Give it a rest. You can't see the security this gives the club to be tied to an asset like that?

Hasn't made money? So what, it's never really had the chance, it's been mired in controversy and conflicting interests since day one. That ends. And debt, 1st the mortgage then Wasps and their bond schemes and delusions of world dominance.

This is a fresh start for the club and the arena. Enjoy the moment FFS.

Wow! I didn't see that coming. I wonder if that's what the £15 million investment in the club was for.

I'm genuinely more excited by this than by the purchase of new players because this secures the club's future.

Monumental. Historic. Didn't think I'd ever see this and I feel quite emotional right now. Better than any new signing could ever be. Doug's song remains embarrassing, but I hope it's sung on repeat today, boy does he deserve it.

Over the top? I don't care. Our football club will remain in the City and should never move again. For our future generations and the future of the greatest thing in the world, Coventry City Football Club.

Isn’t the CBS run at a loss? Hoping we are not going to be funding black holes in the Arena accounts through player sales etc now it’s all one company.

Unless it’s to sell the club I don’t see the point here. Costs loads to maintain and makes no money, that’s why it’s been a hot potato from day one.

Incredible news. Today is the first day I will walk into that ground and feel that this is truly home. Fair play to Doug he got it done like he said he would. The future genuinely looks brighter for the football club and the ground is finally owned by those who it was built for.

QPR on the 20th anniversary as well just feels so apt. Let’s hope we can repeat the scoreline!

WOW! Wasn't expecting that - what a coincidence that the first game as owners is vs QPR.

Time to get the club shop stocked up with Doug King masks and get the fooking statue on order.

Couldn’t think of two more fitting fixtures in the next week!

QPR at home - the fixture that opened the stadium

Oxford away - who are celebrating getting planning permission for a new permanent home themselves

Funny how football works like that
