Unless it’s to sell the club I don’t see the point here. Costs loads to maintain and makes no money, that’s why it’s been a hot potato from day one.

This is massive news. Gives the club long-term stability and can rely solely on itself moving forward - not needing to constantly go into battle with whoever is the current landlord.

Genuinely one of the biggest milestones in the club's history.

It's redoing the move from Highfield Rd properly but at a much better moment for the club.

I wonder what has been purchased. Is it the entire site including casino and arena?

He absolutely is indeed, hopefully if he dies he will be equally successful in finding the “right” owners who believe in the City and the wider area

The worst mistake made by our worst owners, Richardson and Robinson, has been rectified

(intriguingly, another example of how Doug King does business…..quietly, no gossip)

No need to sing take me home highfield road anymore.

The CBS is OUR home

It's our NEW home. Our old home is where many of us grew up supporting City, watching our own Coventry Greats and celebrating the old five!

Thank you, Doug King!

Well other than the fact it secures the clubs future, increases its asset value and massively increases turnover.

Upon reflection, and coming from an era of growing up with Highfield Rd, I can now say, for the first time, I LOVE the CBS.

I guess so yeah, but if he does then good for him. What he has done here cannot be underestimated. Genuinely emotional over this, never thought we'd get to this point.

If I’m not wrong as well with the new football governing body. The stadium can’t be sold or moved without fan consent?

I’d expect this cost somewhere around 25-30mil but total guess.

Frasers bought it for 18mil including transaction costs.

I guess we’ll find out when the respective accounts are published.

If he used his Monzo cashback that could mean we have a bit more in the transfer kitty too.

Well for one we have a permanent home. For two, due to the new laws it can’t be sold from under us. For three it provides the club with around the clock income. For four we had two years before the new EFL rules could kick us out the league.
