Need to steady on here. Can only get 30k in a 32k stadium. Most the time it’s below 30k and people talking of expanding

In the Prem, against Liverpool, Man U, Villa, Wolves, Chelsea, Man City, Forest, Newcastle, Spurs and even Leicester if they were still there (very unlikely) demand would exceed supply. This assumes we can offer away fans high numbers.

We would sell out every week in the PL.

What happens if we’re to go back down and end up like Luton?
If you’re talking of expanding, would need 5 years of demand outstripping supply even before the convo takes place.
Look at Leicester. Was even in the champions league and prem constantly and only recently there’s talk of them expanding their stadium.

When the stadium was buit I said at the time it needed to be in the 40k capacity area. So many thought that was daft. But here we are needing a bigger capacity. If we get to the prem, we will certainly need more capacity by at least 10k. there are many ways it can be done but, we don't own the stadium.

Is the casino an obstacle to lowering the pitch or is that under the exhibition hall?

If the pitch was lowered that would make the goals nearer the stands, better in my opinion. A two tier stand you have the option of closing the upper tier when it's not a full capacity rather than having everyone scattered about. Then there is the infrastructure of taking it up to 40k, parking is a nightmare as it is, transport to and from the stadium is shit,, getting a beer or food at half time, all this would need to be addressed

The ground is plently big enough. It has a bigger capacity than almost (13 bigger at present) half the Premier League grounds and most of the Championship grounds.

Silghtly more capacity than Leicester, Wolves, Brighton & Forest and quite a bit more than WBA.

I don't know why some on here don't understand this.

We aren't unique. Almost every PL clubs sells out every week. Absolutely nothing to suggest we won't do the same.

To answer your question, yes the Casino is under the Exhibition hall.

But lowering the pitch now that's a different ball game, you wouldn't get that done during the closed season.

It takes forever to get out of the car park as it is, I dread to think how bad it would be if you increased the capacity.

They could lower half of the pitch one season and the other half the next

Doug would need to find us a bigger car park.

We had 51k at Highfield Rd in an era when a fair few must’ve attended by car

That was 57 years ago, not so many cars about in those days, there was a massive coach and bus park though. And it was only a 15 minute walk to pool meadow.

Although there’s a lot of empty seats during this barren spell of theirs.

We don’t even sell out our season tickets and stadium utilisation is 83%. Talk of expansion is silly when attendances of 7-12k are within recent memory.
