It's all bullshit and spinning out time, I'm not sure for who's benefit though as surely even the Sixfields few know that it's a crock of shit ! Maybe they're just trying to con the already negligent and pitiful idiots at the football league !

Exactly, what difference does not filling the corners in do to the atmosphere.
You cant walk around the ground and you need 4 separate catering facilities.

Even at Highfield Road they tried to match the height of the stands so they could fill the corners in for the East stand.

Four self supporting roof structures also make is more expensive.

Name me 5 bowl stadiums that are known for great atmospheres?

Its not the shape or the structure, it's the seats fastened in all around them that kills atmosphere !

Maybe it's just the information that Sandra Garlick is being provided by Fisher?

You have to wonder if this Sandra Garlick is receiving money under false pretences, she is a highly respected solicitor so obviously no mug but here she is forming a so-called committee to discuss project detail on a stadium where as yet there is no site, no hint of a site even yet there are supposed to be two possibilities, no planning either. As I said she's no mug and I would say almost certainly if there are sites she knows where, so I ask those who attend before any questions or debate ask and keep asking where the proposed site is, just a north, east, south, west of Coventry would do for now.
Those who attend Thursday prove you are not just a tea and biscuit brigade and demand to know the location of these proposed sites.

One of the questions to ask her "Are you receiving a fee to run this forum?"

mine is the Ricoh

Yeah, I get that. There's just no atmosphere in it, even for the higher capacity games. I know the football on offer was dross but the stadium was/is too big for us.

Each to their own I guess. I'm just saying that if we don't return to the Ricoh, my personal perference would be for a stadium with 4 clear stands. Much like the majority of the new German stadia being built and I think Juves new ground is based on 4 stands.

she states she is being independent

The info she is being provided by Fisher maybe "coventry area"
The info she is getting from fans, as by her admission, she has already spoken to many, will be "coventry", and or "ricoh"

yet she is constantly saying "coventry area""

It's not the stadium it's the people in it.
Perform well on the pitch and the atmosphere is automatic.
Unless you are complacent like Man U at times, where a win is expected.

All those grounds are only really good on big occasions. St James Park especially is pretty terrible acoustically because of the big high roof.

“As a supporter, it has been very difficult to see the club playing outside the region and the new stadium plans are vital in getting Coventry City back in the Coventry area."

Good question, for me none of the new stadia are anything like the old ones. Even the Emirates with 60000 in is nothing compared to Highbury. If a new stadium to be built was a reality I and it was down to me I would build pretty much a copy of the old Highfield Road but a bit bigger and obviously more modern. Why they go for these bowl designs having said that I think the MK Dons stadium is the best of the bowl designs

Two things need to be established first:

1) The Ricoh -whilst people are still saying 'we are still willing to talk' blah, blah, blah then this is still open and fans wont believe that a new stadium would be considered. SISU need to come out and categorically say that this is definately no longer an option
2) Location - If the council are saying that they can make a profit from the ricoh witout the club there then they should have no issue with the club citing the new stadium within the boundaries. If it is within the coventry area, please be clear on what that means exactly - is that Northampton or Hinckley or the otherside of the 'welcome to coventry' sign?

You cannot plan a friggin stadium without knowing where it is going to be based FFS! Satisfy the two above then they can effectively talk about a new ground.

As much as I loved Highbury, it was well known for mostly having a poor atmosphere, hence the 'Library' jokes. Unless you were in the West Terrace, Highfield Road wasn't that great really when you think about it. The big games were good but the bog standard saturday afternoon vs Crewe were a bit poor really. I agree a ground with character is much more pleasing on the eye but its all about the fans inside the stadium and what kind of noise they can generate. The Emirates could be a rocking ground if they had that kind of support behind them.
