They'd been struggling since Ken Dulieu left - but things are now looking up

He's probably one of the first to be interviewed, so will hopefully make the others look like good candidates thus ruling himself out.

We can only hope that happens otherwise we are finished

Don't panic cloughie - I was worried too about the ability of Waggot & Fisher to get the right man but I've been reliably informed that they absolutely know what they are doing so we will be sorted

I can't be bothered to trawl through the stats but the figures I would think are good considering some of that was premiership football and you wouldn't expect Hull, Preston beating Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool every week
So it just goes to show looking at win ratios never tells the whole story
FFS we are bottom of division one I am pleased we have managers of this calibre applying !!!

Hull maybe, but Preston in the prem ?, when did that happen ?

Think I'd rather have an expert in data analysis and recruitment like Fisher do the interviews than, say, Mike McGinnity...

Not the worst name on the list, not the best but let's be honest with ourselves, who the hell do we think we can attract to a club with no money, no transfer budget, declining attendances and no wins in League one??? Don't kid yourself that we're a sleeping giant, more of a mid-sized club in a coma.

It has been said before by others on here Yes Fisher is intelligent but still a sisu man and little football knowledge.

Agreed McGinnity didn't have a clue regarding managers

It was KD last year and Brown this. The SISU guys are looking forward to David Dickinson next year when he keeps saying he can buy players "cheap as chips"

I think it would be a decent appointment, got Hull promoted and then kept them in the PL which was a brilliant achievement. At Preston he didnt do so well but i dont think it was all his fault as he joined half way through the season when they were in the bottom 3 and eventually got relegated. Phil Brown is certainly one of the better names being touted for the job. My top 3 would be Wise, Money and then Brown.

I don't mind Phil Brown. I think he's the most sensible option that i've heard about so far. He did fantastic things for Hull. Better than most names mentioned. I'd give him a chance.

Well if its Brown i will be finally at an all time low. How will he inspire the city of Coventry to come along to the Ricoh and watch the new re-born skyblues.

The football that he played at Hull and Preston was dire, and uninspiring.I have a Preston mate who said it was the worst football he had seen in his fourty years watching them. Prestons crowds soon collapsed and we all know where they are now the same league we are in, hows that a "winning record " Fisher

This seriously would be a catrasphoe, it will be the final nail in the coffin.

FISHER ,Get a manger who at least tries to play attractive football, do you not know we are down to 9500 crowds, how the hell will Brown put bums on seats with his style of football. I'm still trying to find his "High grade CV", perhaps if Mr Fisher is reading this could you point me in the right direction to where i can find it. Its a joke if this man gets the job.

I am happy for us to go with experiance and if a manager has got experiance there are going to have had blips and hopefully learn from them. As long as they have had a bit of success at more than one club would be handy and that shows they are not a one trick pony !!

Christ your already on his back before he's finished his interview let alone got the job it's not new managers we need it's a new set of fans. How do you expect ferguson mourinho ???? Just because someone did a bad job in their career does that mean they will flop ? No they learn look at Hodgeson after Liverpool that was an awful spell well hes turned his career around. Let's get behind whoever it is wether its brown wise blackwell wilder you can't write someone off before they begin

I don't suppose the Blackpool fans were happy when they appointed Ian holloway after his shit time at leceister but they got it right. We might not get the manager we want but he might just be the one to make us click.

I absolutely love the way someone is slated by everyone before they've been given a chance!
There's a lottery in every managerial appointment! How do we know he's not the man to perform the miracle we need!
You see it all the time in football.....Dowie at Palace, holloway at Blackpool, lambert had done fook all before he took over at Norwich.
The list is endless!
How do we know he won't be the manager that just fits us like a glove??
Also he's a damn site better than some of the other dross that's been mentioned, it's not all about history and win percentages,it's alot to do with the right man at the right time.
Something the board at Cov haven't got right since George and John!!
Keep the faith and stop moaning like fecking bitches.

He'd probably be like the equivalent of needing a HR rep sat in on the interview. Won't say much, but gets the tea in.

Who do you all expect Mourinho. I keep saying this we are a lowly third division club and our time in the Prem. is a distant memory. Just think of this, any fan aged 22 or younger don't remember us in the Premiership and only remember us as a struggling championship club.. As for Phil Brown you have to say as it is. Did very well at Hull, not so well at Preston, you pays your money and take your choice. I'll just add all this breaking news regards Brown being interviewed just sums up what a bunch of amatuers Fisher and Waggott are allowing this to leak out....unless it is a ploy to gauge fans reaction !!
