It looks bloody bleak at the moment.

Aren't we the only club in the league to not sign at least one player. This is horrendous news.

Relegation is certain.

Coupled with releasing all of our best players (once Wilson inevitably goes as well).

Well apart from the 4 teams that went down and the 10 points that we lost and the season being not just the second half.Apart from that you are right.

did you read what I wrote? because your response isn't valid.

I said.."after the SECOND HALF of the season where we were comfortably the worst team and lowest scoring team in the league" oh and just to be clear I mean lowest scoring in terms of points not goals.

we rightly didn't go down because we scored enough points, but just looking at the second half is a much more valid pointer of what is too come than taking the whole thing.

The Woe is me people from last season were right in that the squad was much too thin and once injuries/suspensions and winter set in things would go to hell and they did. Fortunately the start was much better than expected and we by the skin of our teeth survived.

Wilson and baker are part of the asset stripping before liquidation. Believe that.

To you and Andreas B. 2-3 signings is never enough and even 5 players isn't as they will all be cheap crap players.

Before a ball is kicked..... Well yes look at the team. Is there one? We are the only club in the league not to sign a player ffs. Surely you can see the problem?

You don't need the weatherman to tell you to expect rain in England next year do you?

I suspect it will not be enough (currently I am expecting relegation) but 2-3-4 or 5 signings will improve the current situation with the playing team, that was my point.

Yes but they have to be decent quality and not cheap loan signings who are all crap. That was my point and in my opinion we need around ten new signings and sure I am not alone.

I wasn't wrong at all, I said before the season started that I thought we were more likely to stay up than get relegated but that I thought we were going to struggle once injuries and suspensions set in. We did better than I thought we would initially but we did worse than I thought we would later. The final result though was pretty much what I expected. I did have a bet on us to be relegated but that was because the odds were something like 7/1 whereas I thought the real situation was more like 2/1 so it was a very good value bet. This season is likely to be much much harder than last season despite the fact we won't (fingers crossed) have a points deduction. I see no way we won't get relegated if things continue as they are, so you are welcome to tell me I was wrong in a years time if we stay up. I really hope you get to say I told you so.

As I said, the majority of us back the team but not Sisu. You are doing the team no favours.
Continue to do what you do and you will continue to get the same.
Do something different and try and change the situation.

Ive got a good idea - go to the odd away game and pretend the rest dont exist. Yeah thats a great support strategy. Dont come over all moralistic and holier than thou, it dont wash because its bullshit.

Ok, back to the original topic.....

Looks like we are signing Swanson and Pressley says we need taller players in the same sentence as saying he has asked several players to move on. Who next? Clarke? Phillips? Daniels? Barton?

Yeah, last season pretty much went exactly like the majority thought it would. Decent squad on paper, but once injuries kicked in and the kids got tired, no depth and we'd drop points. That's exactly what happened.

The fact that we avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth doesn't really discredit it either.

That said: if we sign players of the quality of the guy we seem to have got today, we could well go into next season with a stronger first 11, though I worry it's too much of an ask to pad the squad out with cover as well, so we'll be at the mercy of form and injuries once more.

I'm convinced the "usual suspects" roughly translated as Selfish Fuckers, will still be supporting the boys.
God knows what it would take for them to stop attending

So here's the squad as it stands...

Allsop
Burge

Clarke
Phillips
Seabourne
Willis
Webster
Finch
Johnson
Haynes

Baker
Swanson
Thomas
Fleck
Barton
Coulibaly
O'Brien
Lawton
Daniels

No strikers yet.

Looking at this and what Pressley says, we are after three strikers and a holding midfielder now. Assuming Barton goes that would give s a squad of 23

I find this Wikipedia link to be a good and up-to-date reference for the current squad.
