Squad Rotation = Player Frustration ?? (1 Viewer)

From having a threadbare squad in numbers and quality we now appear to have the luxury of multi - choicing in certain positions particularly the strikers.

We appear to have: Nubret, Madine, Jackson, Tudgay, McQuoid and until recently Miller competing for the two main striking roles.

Two scenarios suggest:

1) if form is good and consistent retain the two best forwards with the rest benched or inactive out of the matchday squad which leads to some players constantly missing first team action thus eroding fitness levels and match sharpness.

2) rotate the striker's squad enabling at least some continuity albeit in much reduced match numbers per player.

Both scenarios result in player frustration as to game play ie out of favour players being denied "shop window" access trying to impress for a move to other clubs.

For example Tudgay has been elevated from the Bomb Squad because of his performance against Walsall which will put pressure on the others (good or bad ?) - "Boss why am I not playing today I thought it was my turn?") etc.

I don't think there is an adequate answer/solution to this modern day problem particularly when in the 70's Liverpool won one of their many league titles using only 15 players for the whole season.

players need to know their role and be professional. if it dont work out seek a move if manager agrees

until then keep working hard and hope the manager isnt stubborn

Tudgay is in Bomb Squad, Miller has been told he can go and McQuoid is likely to go back.

That Leaves Nouble (assuming he signs), Madine (until end of Jan) and Jackson.

If we are playing with 3 up top, that would leave us with no spare strikers.
