AT has been quoted as supporting the squad rotation system as being beneficial to the squad and players in general.

I have mixed feelings on this one similar to having too large a squad whereby players are rotated to keep them allegedly fitfresh/interested,

I would, as a player, be really p - - - - d off to lose my place simply to give another player a shout in my position whereby he could perform really well and confine me to the bench.

Players should play on merit and current form and not be subject to yo yo selection.

I remember years ago Peter Crouch scoring a hat trick for Liverpool and then not even making the squad for the next game thanks to that idiot Benitez.

Similarly but totally opposite Liverpool fielded a total of just 15 players in one season in the 70's when winning the league.

If At wants to keep players fit/fresh/interested resurrect a reserve league thats got to be a a more acceptable alternative surely.

Yea I see what you mean but I don't think AT rotates the squad for the sake of rotating it, reasons like form, fitness, what AT see's in training and injury will be the main reason for rotation of the team.

we do not have enough players to rotate the squad it is so thread bare, if you got your football boots you will be in the squad on match day!!

CCFC, I understand what you mean but that is not construed as squad rotation but emergency selection due to circumstance.

AT is referring to probably swapping Cody with CP to keep them both interested which does not bode well for continuity.

Yea I guess but referencing your example I don't think AT would drop a player after they have had a stormer.
If a players had had an average 3-4 games on the bounce then I wouldn't really have a problem with that player being dropped. I wouldn't call that emergency selection due to circumstance, to me that is squad rotation.

Jukes definately remarked he likes playing alongside Clive ,for obvious reasons i guess,but will he score goals ,cody meanwhile looks far more predatory in that youtube clip ,so could create ,good competion /rivalry with Juke ,assuming he's capable of making the step up,which given team time i'm confident he will.

I think he say's things like this to stop fans worrying about injuries and suspensions affecting the team to make it sound like we've got a better/bigger squad than me do.

Yes and much more scientific things than that, too. I think Thorn has been very explicit about this in at least 3 interviews. He spoke about both Gael and Cyrus in terms of performance and training etc, all the things you mention-then explained how their "stats backed that up, they've dropped right off in the last few games".

The majority of managers use things like Opta and Pro-zone to analyse performance as well as what they see with their own eyes. Younger and older players are those most prone to variance in performance, due to physical and mental fatigue. I have agreed with almost every single call he's made on selection, and he's made substitutions (eg Tues night at H.T.) that I wanted but never even envisioned a CCFC manager in my lifetime being brave and assertive enough to actually carry them out. Jesus, City managers don't make double half-time substitutions...that's for World Cups and stuff, isn't it?!?

Well perhaps i'm old fashioned but i believe you play your best team at all times and omit players when injured obvviously and if in poor form. The problem nowadays is most teams don't have a reserve team in a league.
