for the first time in out some time we have some actual strength in depth me thinks... kelly drops out & walsh steps in and ( second half especially ) shows that we have signed a quality like for like

Jobello has a good game, scores an absolute screamer, then we take him off and put O'Hare on who finds the space to play through them and scores a sublime curler into the far corner

Westbrooke seems to have stepped into Bayliss shoes with ease, Rose is proper prospect who I think we did well to secure early - Jordan who ? - and Godden looks like like we have actually found a worthy replacement for mcnulty, and he doesn't even need 3 months to get going... is it 6 games & 3 goals ? absolute quality player.

Im happy with Dabo and im sure he will do well, but cant deny id have liked to seen grimmer still there, cant honestly see much difference between the two - and grimmer seems to be doing well enough at Wycombe!! but in MR we trust

Cant wait to see Jody Jones and Jamie Allen add to this team too

Even at 2-0 down today I was still upbeat and felt we would get something out of the game

dare we dare to dream!?

Sorry but Dabo is a different level to Grimmer. I get it he is a nice bloke and said hi to a few people on social media but he really isn't as good as Dabo.

fair comment , not gonna argue... four of us go the matches, home & away. 2 say they would like to have seen grimmer given a go & 2 say what you say. out of all the players / positions changed on the pitch id say its the one thats arguably less clear cut on the increase in quality. That said im more than happy with Dabo and think he will grow as the season goes on ( sterling-esque ) so you are most likely correct. MR obviously didn't fancy him for taking us to the next level

Two players in each position and quality in that depth. Only worry would be if Godden was to get injured.

Now we’ve got cover for Kelly, the only positions I’d be worried about relying on the backup long term are GK and ST.

The nice thing is with everyone fit I’m not sure what our best team would be.

true but still jody will be back.. Hiwula through the middle and jody out wide then. think Hiwula is more likely to score in that position but cant play him through middle while golden is playing

just watched the goals back... the Jobello stoke , just before half time, was the kick in the gut for them.... what a strike. the bloke behind us had spent the first half slagging him and saying he shouldn't be on the pitch. turned round after he had scored to have the crack with him , and he was conveniently off for an early half time beverage ! lol

The squad depth is fine there has to be a limit how many reserves a third division team can have and afford. We have some very good kids coming through too two or three could make appearances this season too, one Bapaga has already.

From the post-game interview i think M R said Jodi Jones is not far away. Could be like Max and Allen and near a return but being held back to prevent further damage.
Could maybe in a month or so be seeing Walsh, Kelly and Allen in the midfield three, with Jones, Godden and O'Hare as the forward 3 with Jobello, Kastaneer, Biamou, Shipley, Westbrooke, Rose/McFadzean/Hyam, McCallum etc to come on. Looking very positive to me, even when we lose the odd game we need to remember that, that bench is the present team, so give it time and let MR weild his magic. PUSB

One more thought, if Godden get's injured what do we do? Yes, we are scoring goals from all over the team but that's because i believe Godden takes 2 or 3 players with him and makes space for others, if he is not there will the other players get the same space? Promotion this season, YES with a fit Godden. With Godden injured maybe, as goals coming from all over the team but without him will that continue?

and have to add Hiwula to that list, our bench could soon be as strong as our starting 11.
