Nobody was saying £20. And at what point does this cease to make sense? 10K at £100 would generate more, would that be job done, or do you agree there is a balance to be struck that prioritises revenue but which doesn't alienate and discourage uptake? This especially applies to children, and that's where the issue is more than anything.

We charge kids more than any other club in the league. We only have 6K tickets to sell for league games, but if we sell those 6000 tickets more than 4 or 5 times all season I'd be surprised. Would it not be better to fill those seats more often with the future generation even if it meant a slight reduction in revenue in the short term?

Someone should tell the club this. They’ve probably not considered any of this when setting ticket prices.

My parents worked and met at the Styvechale Arms in the early 80s. Legend has it that the pub ran out of beer one day, I assume as a young @clint van damme drank the place clean

The link between that story and the comment you replied to, is tenuous at best.

Not me, rarely went in there.
But I'd like to have seen the carry on in there that day.
Wouldn't surprise me if Grendel was involved!

But it's not the kids of today is it?

It's the parents of today.

Kids wouldn't give a fuck if they had to walk to school, as they wouldn't know any different.

Whatever you think about the kids of today, they are a product of us, the parents.

It's a opinion about pricing in a thread full of opinions about ticket pricing Of course it's considered when they make these calls, I never suggested I had invented a new concept or way of thinking, it ain't that deep.

I don’t buy this “future generations” stuff. We charge more than any other club you say, and yet we have record season ticket sales and bigger crowds than we’ve had for decades. It doesn’t stack up.

like I said- 26k at £37 and apparently there will be 26k there, whatever your views on King it looks like he knew what he was doing.

I lived behind the Styvechale arms in Daleway Road - witnessed a Blazing saddles fight night in there one night - hilarious - chairs tables the lot all getting broken in the lounge bar then the keystone cops arrived and we slipped out and over the road - early 80s

I'm talking about match day prices clearly, which are the highest in the division (for kids), which I guess has fueled ST sales which are priced very reasonably, so maybe there is method there..

Besides, a lot of of the hand ringing was about not selling out. Point was made that at those prices it was unlikely to, and it hasn't. That was where the discussion about pricing came up.

Whether the approach they take to these things is actually better for the club, well that's a different debate and I'm not saying you are wrong on that because it is a difficult balancing act

It was never going to sell out, it’s just not that attractive.

I’d love for us to not need the money and let everyone in for a fiver, but that’s not the age we live in unfortunately.

We don't charge kids more than any other club in the league though.
I paid £25.50 for my 16 year old and £23.50 for my 14 year old against Leeds in a couple of weeks.

The same tickets against Swansea would be £20 and £15.

Keep in mind there are likely blocks or sections of blocks that are "unavailable" because they're not on sale yet, but here's the scores on the doors:

North 3,054 of 5,271 - 58% tickets sold or unavailable
East 8,553 of 9,487 - 90% tickets sold or unavailable
South 2,045 of 2,496 - 82% tickets sold or unavailable
West 2,176 of 2,219 - 98% tickets sold or unavailable
‍‍‍ Family 1,914 of 3,179 - 60% tickets sold or unavailable
Premium 3,313 of 3,382 - 98% tickets sold or unavailable
---------------------------------
Total 21,055 of 26,034 - 81% tickets sold or unavailable

The ones excluded from the total:

Corporates 3,530 of 3,530 - 100% tickets sold or unavailable
Unavailable 1,425 of 1,591 - 90% tickets sold or unavailable
Away 2,610 of 2,610 - 100% tickets sold or unavailable

Strange if it is because I remember someone on here a few month ago claiming that Leeds fans were the only away fans ever that we let into corporate

You still need a membership number to buy tickets in corporate. The only exception is the boxes.
