Sold out the away end that day. The League Cup isn’t a big draw because it’s midweek and let’s be honest, a Mickey Mouse cup until you get to the quarter/semi final.

Good atmosphere that night. Probably only about 22,000 there then and that's after the win at United.

Kevin Keegan's last game in management

Milner was sold to Villa under his nose straight after the match and he walked out

Still selling at a similar rate to the Maidstone game where 27,000 turned up.

Think he was younger than that and played up from through the middle. Maybe just turned 18.

I imagine the attendance will end up being about 26/27000 which would be a good turnout tbh

Not trying to spin anything and actively trying to encourage people to go, it never crossed my mind not to go, but I get why some people aren't.

Biggest mistake was not allowing season ticket holders to purchase at £30 regardless of when they bought a ticket. A few would have made a last minute decision to go, but penalising them for not committing earlier will put people off.

Agree with the second paragraph.
I've missed the cut off to get my £30 ticket (my own fault), and although I'm happy for my usual seat to be made available to others, for some reason the gap between £37 and £30 does feel quite a lot...

Depends on what rate. By this point in comparison I’m pretty sure we’d sold a significant amount more.

The way I've viewed it is based on season ticket sales .
If we've sold 21500 ST's roughly then that map would indicate we've sold around 18000 home tickets so far plus 3k spurs guaranteed sold .

The map always looks more than it actually is in terms of seats available

I think it's unlikely to sell out now, I'll accept that. Still think they'll be a surge on the Monday and Tuesday when people start to get the fear of missing out. Even more so when most people will be sat in front of the telly watching Spurs on Sunday.

22 as it was August 2008 and he was born Jan 1986

Sky says only 19k there which seems very low to what it felt like in the ground

Loads of games around that time used to feel bigger crowds than the number suggested. That Blackburn game in the FA Cup in 2009 had an attendance of 22/23,000 and it felt absolutely packed. Those were the days people used to cram into the corner and you'd have 2 people per seat in 14. Blackburn only had about 400 there if I remember correctly.

The Birmingham game a week or two before the Chelsea match was the same. Similar attendance but felt a little bit busier than the number announced.

Keegan was the manager at the the played us so he's the one who fucked it and left Shearer a poisoned chalice.

We weren't allowed in 3/14 or 15 that games as they wanted them for segregation was they'd decided to sell as many tickets as they could to newcastle fans

Imagine if doug did that out of choice what the reaction would be

Yeah, fairly established at this point. Broke through at Leeds at a very young age didn't he (when they were still in the prem?)?

I know we shouldn’t have to in this day and age but it was actually quite nice to get a physical ticket through the post. Plus I can add it to all the others over the years.

Never the same scanning a code or carrying around a piece of folder up paper.

It’s a good and nostalgic point.
really easy nowadays to scan off phone isn’t it, and I like that.
but yeah the whole ‘buying a ticket’ and having to go to the ticket office and then having physical tickets printed off and kept on the mantelpiece til the game or in your wallet to show and then keep
Like the old season ticket books where you had to tear out the corresponding voucher that was showing on the board outside the turnstiles.
It’s the little things…..

Not going as we aren’t arsed about the game to be honest, certainly not at £30. Hopefully Big Ange tells Spurs to declare at 2 or 3

To be fair, the 10 blocks to the left that have just singles left. Pretty much the same in the main stand.

The seating map looks similar to majority of games in 2022 the night before a game and there would be 22,000 there.
