All you SISU morons who claim ACL couldn't organise a ***** in a brewery, eat your words ! THIS is why SISU are sooooo desperate to get their hands on the Ricoh.
ACL stand firm - no deals with crooks !!!!! No way does ACL need twopencehalfpenny rent from SISU when they can fill the Ricoh with their own events - 4 concerts a year is probably worth more than 20 x SISU's rent "offer/demand". :claping hands::claping hands::claping hands:
agreed and as special and as great as highfield road was, coventry would never ever get acts like the boss, oasis, muse, chilli peppers, bonjovi etc without the ricoh
So just who are these 'SISU morons' who are claiming that ACL couldn't organise an event in a venue that's hosted these kind of events for years now?

I think you may be over estimating the profits from 4 concerts per year.
NEC made just £3m profit in 2012 from all their music concerts combined. They vast majority of their profit (another £30m) came from exhibitions and conferencing.

Hopefully they can persuade him to visit 23 times a year.
Yes it's fantastic - here are some reviews;
"Parking very limited near to stadium, had to use park and ride that cost £20 to park on a rugby pitch. Trying to return to my car had a scrum of people trying to get onto the few buses that were running. Nobody to guide you to the place where your bus would come. Will probably not return there again to be ripped off!"
"Whoever designed that stadium/car parking areas obviously has never driven a car nor attended a concert. Very poor road design to exit the vast quantity of cars. The marshalls there were not bad in that they got things moving (when they could) but they were let down by the layout architects who were evidently short on any decent amount of synaptic activity"
"as for the Ricoh Arean it was rubbish not the facilities just the non-management of the event it was pathetic.
Stewards who turned a blind eye to Smoking all over the arena including the concourse's, blocked staircases/entrance/access points dangerous bottlenecks were common place with a serious risk of a major crush at any moment.."
Looks like we need a new management company
We signed off with Elton John.
Do you know, it's actually sad that you must trawl all the reviews; zealously and joyfully extracting anything bad. I can think of no other words. It's genuinely sad

Trawl - it took 10 seconds - It's an average venue no more and no less and the notion its any better is misguided. What is sad is some idiot claiming to be a football supporter coming onto a supporters forum and bigging up a third rate management company who have helped get us where we are today. Without football the place will be totally irrelevant to 99% of the local population 365 days a year.
You do realise that ACL merely provide use of the facilities. The Springsteen gig would be run in its entirety by an events management company, it merely needs ACL to open the doors.
Are you saying that some of Grendel's criticism - that of organisation and logistics - was therefore nothing to do with ACL if it was managed by someone else?

Can't blame ACL for some of the flaws in the infrastructure around the stadium, it's the Council's fault.
Open question all: Have the Red Hot Chilli Peppers played at the RICOH!? I was hoping they play there but I think I seen someone on here said they had played their, I'd be gutted if I don't get to see them live.

Equally as sad as those that tell us what ACL could do to make money once the club they support leave. Or those that provide figures supporting their argument. Or those who hope "ACL take us to the cleaners" or "refuse to let CCFC play there".
There's bitterness regardless of your viewpoint and really it's all a little much now, isn't it? I hope when it's finally sorted that threads like this disappear.
Come off it, you know full well that is usually in response to someone saying "well lets see how ACL cope without their anchor tenant, shall we?".
