Interesting comments by Lundekvam. Morally, completely wrong and even back in mid-late 90's they would have been on big bucks. Personally, I find most of it trivial but to then say they weren't influencing results but the betting also included penalties isn't on. Think he may have got himself and others into a bit of trouble and rightly so.

The Pakistani cricketers didn't effect results but they were jailed. If it can be proved, should it be any different for footballers no matter how long ago it was?

I remember reading Matt Le Tissier did this, put a bet on there to be a throw in, in the first minute of the game. So right from the kick off he tried to overhit a pass for a throw and failed.
