I think that means we are going to be able to buy because we are going to sell first

We may well sell, but the article says holding on to star players and boosting the squad.

It says a lot that the majority of comments on the first couple of pages were made without people having seen the article.

Its a positive article, it does not mean Pressley will start splashing the cash, it just means there is a bit of wriggle room. It also does not mean that certain players will not be sold if we receive a big bid for them.

I think in reality the top 2 is just a push too far, too much of a gap. Play off's must be achievable though. Depends how we look the other side of Christmas period.

Not sure it is relevant to Ricoh Talks.
You invest 250k on getting promotion.

You secure an extra 5 million funding which covers the 2 million they are losing a season whilst they are not at the Ricoh.

Getting promotion and a successful campaign strengthens Joy's hand.

She would be crazy not to go for it.

The squad doesn't need much work but maybe add some depth in areas. Ideally I would bring in a centre half but I am happy with most of the other performances. Keeping the players has to be the priority in January.

If I were Ann Lucas and Sappalla shook my hand, I would check that I still had my watch.

It shows how downtrodden we are when we get excited about the possibility of spending in January.

Isnt that what normal well run clubs do anyway?

I agree 100%. However, after being fed bullshit for years on end and seeing every decent player we've had sold or let go i remain sceptical.

Wouldn't say well run clubs do it. We've been active in January in the past under SISU's tenure. It was the January window that brought junk like David Bell to the club.

Well run clubs don't have to dip into the transfer market every January imo.
