I'd be absolutely amazed if he had any say in that decision, I doubt fisher has any either.

Well I think Venus and Fisher would have some input in the decision making process. However, I agree - in my opinion, ultimately the power probably rests with a 'shadow' director/chair, who represents the interests of the owners - whoever they are.

The problem is that this would be virtually impossible to prove. I vaguely remember that in an interview Carl Baker once referred to JS as the 'Chair' and all reference to the quote was removed from the internet within a matter of hours and his contract was not renewed at the end of that season, (this could have been a co-incidence of course).

Baker has always been bitter about pressley, said it was him.

Yes, that's true Nick. But none of us knows all the reasons why he was bitter with Pressley do we? I doubt whether JS would have been content for no action to be taken against Baker and it would have been Pressley who would have been instructed to deal with it.

In any case this is a side issue. The real point is that in my opinion, the ultimate power does not necessarily rest with the formally appointed board of directors.

I really like the idea of fan ownership.
In all likelihood it will never happen, and I can see the many potential problems and pitfalls, but I think the fans having some sort of say in the future of the club would be a great thing after everything we've been through.
Yes, we would still have to be self sufficient, we would have to still sell our best players, but we've always done that, long before sisu came, including my first Sky Blue hero Ian Wallace, but for me it would be acceptable if it meant having people who care about the club and who had a vision at the helm.

However, I don't buy this theory that wasps and CCC are suddenly going to bend over backwards to form partnerships with the club after sisu have gone.
wasps have their own interests to look after, and as much as I don't like them and wish they weren't here I can understand that.
CCC only look out for the interests of CCC, they don't care about the people they were elected to serve or the Citys institutions.
So IMHO, the day sisu go won't be a bright new dawn, it will just mean we have cleared the first and biggest hurdle to a bright new dawn but there will still be many left ahead of us.

( Quote ) In all likelihood it will never happen. Well if and when SISU pull the plug and leave, a fans ownership COULD happen.

Now what league ? your guess is as good as mine, but the running costs will be a lot lower.

And probably ground sharing with Cov rugby or Nuneaton Town.

I'm afraid to say the future looks grim for my beloved Sky Blues.

Or my main income is with CCFC. I have a wife and family, NO mortgage owing to my being in a football dictated life of which I've been paid wages over the 20 or so years that the average working man would have to work a lifetime to realise. Do I move? or do I say f**k you I'm comfortable for the rest of my life having my own Property Developement Company to fall back on, and not only that I've got a responsibility to my customers(Fans) to think about.

Providing that you were a player with exceptional talent to earn the types of money you were on about I know quite a few players from 20 years ago and they never earned the kind of money today. Most are still working in the game because they don't know anything else and earn the types of salaries we are more used to!

Could he do the honourable thing and resign on a point of principle? After a life time in football I would doubt he is badly off. I'm 59 by the way but happy to be classed as one of the youngsters of today!

No such thing as honour in football today or so I thought until Tony Mowbray that is the guy is a legend

Tony Mowbray is reportedly battling with Celtic over money he is owed following his sacking as manager last month. Mowbray, who didn’t complete a full year of his five-year contract, is said to be due £900,000 from the club under a clause in his deal. On top of Mowbray’s payout, it is also believed that money owed to Venus and Grant will take the figure Celtic have to pay to £1.4 million.................................... Yep! extremely poor wages. Whilst I agree with you to a point, we were talking about Venus, were we not?

you have a point. But you're confusing as set up at a normal company with the basket case running City.

Is this not the best way to go after them? Shadow directors aren't allowed yet nobody thinks anyone other than Joy makes the big deductions.

It's impossible to actually prove that in reality.

Maybe Tim would be open to a bribe to reveal who is really in charge!
