So wouldn't you like to see us back in the Pre??

Seriously thou back to the thread, we are losing players yet we are not replacing them will we get the same excuses next season when we have to bring in any old player just to fill a gap and then say..

He is not match fit.
He never had a pre-season.
He has only just met his fellow team mates on the coach up here.

We need to get them in early enough so that Steve and his team can actually see what they are like, and if they will fit into his plans.

Same mistakes every season not expecting any superstars but would like time to be able to name players that play in our team haven't been able to do that for a while,

They could pass me in the street and I wouldn't have the foggiest who they were.

Agree with that. Pre-season is so important to getting people integrated in the squad and getting everybody on the same page tactically and fitness wise.

The extra revenue from getting back to PL won't cover QPR's losses, they'll continue to make a loss next season, if they then come straight back down they will be making similar losses as they did last year.

Yes, the PL and parachute payments bring in a lot of money, but that's almost instantly taken up by inflated wages trying to stay on the PL, you then get relegated with a huge wage bill which the parachute payments hardly touches.

Hedge funds are all about taking risks aren't they? I reckon £2.5m well spent in this league on players and wages would get us promotion which as we are lead to believe is worth £5m. A good chance to double your money.

As you say 'if'. What about if they stay up like some of the other teams that have had promotion from the championship, or are you going to come up with another stat that shows they will be relegated because their name begins with Q or something?

If they stay up, they'll still be losing shed loads of money, especially with 'Arry in charge.

No I mean spending big money on players we can't actually afford to have. Yes if the gamble pays off it is worthwhile, but it didn't when we got relegated from the Prem and look what has happened...

But if everyone is buying into the Pressley and Waggot mantra, surely it is a calculated gamble worth taking. Besides, the previous relegations in my opinion were the fault of the direction of the club and shite managers we have had. We had the players both times to make sure that we should have been safe.

Build the infrastructure first and the club's better placed to find its level and grow with ambition.

Just spunk it on players and you trust to luck... and are probably owned by dubious shysters with an eye to a return, rather than the long term health of the club.

Not denying that QPR are a mess. However, as they are in debt upto their eyes the same as us and the possibility of it all collapsing the same as us, would you take their position or ours at this precise moment? Bearing in mind they are in the PL, play in their ground and have owners willing to spend? Oh and I see that they have planning for a new ground which we don't.

Are you telling me that Sisu/Otium are building for the future? because that would mean that they are being pro-active whereas all I have seen them do is be re-active with one bad decision after another.

Although we do still have an academy, and they are trying to resolve the ground issue ( ), which is more than they did when spunking cash at a problem, ignoring the foundations in the interests of a quick buck, and failing...

Actually, I don't think I would. They are us/Portsmouth waiting to happen and if we ever get out of this shit, I don't want to ever have to go through this again. I would rather we hit rock bottom (I don't think we have yet) and rebuild sensibly like Swansea.

Why is it always binary? As soon as someone says they'd like us to challenge, people take it as "let's turn into Man City".

There's a whole load of levels of investment between "only frees" and "spend like it's going out of fashion".
