i have to admit when he 1st got the job and didn't know what to make of him but you cant deny he's done a great job in very difficult circumstances and he seems genuinely concerned about the fans worries and complaints with out taking sides

i just hope things off field get sorted quickly so we have the best possible chance of holding onto him it cant be easy working under the conditions he is and there must be clubs with one eye on him.

Even in the unlikely event of City returning to Coventry in 3 years, Pressley will be long gone by then. If he succeeds he will be off like a shot. And if he fails, he will get the inevitable 'Spanish Archer' that befalls every City manager after a year or so.

Pressley cannot really fail in the job as if the results go against him then he can say with young players they are up and down and if he succeeds he will be on his way as he can do alot better than the conditions he is working in at the moment

I agree to an extent, but he definitely can fail. He will just have a brilliant excuse for it.

Pressleys job is 100 times more difficult than thorn but he seems to get one tenth of the praise.

I was a Pressley sceptic- no denying it-and the jury is still out for me, he would appear to be doing a good job in terms of team affairs- albeit we’ve not yet seen the team play due to prevailing circumstances; notwithstanding the credibility of his footballing claim, I have to admit I think he conducts himself very well in the public domain against very difficult circumstances- I can't help but think if the main protagonists were similarly inclined in terms of their professional conduct then we might not be where we are right now.

That said, I wonder if he has any leverage in terms of bringing the City home, he recently spoke about his want to convince the young players to extend their contracts; despite what they might say, it must be unsettling for the players to be playing in Northampton, in what can only be described as an uncertain circumstance. I wonder if in those conversations, he might try at least to leverage the likes of Fisher etal through perhaps Mr Waggot in terms of the aspirations of the footballing side of the club to come home with a few well chosen words. Surely any player would rather play at the Ricoh than Sixfields (all due respect)

I like SP; but the similarity you draw is frankly silly. One was competing with one of the worst funded squads in the league it played in, and the other with one of the best funded.

Just pass comment on SP for his own merits; without dragging one if your 'pet subjects' into it, in the hope you can drag down yet another thread down into one of your famed soap box arenas.

He's putting together a fine blend of experience and youth, partially through necessity, and he's a manager we're lucky to have post-Robins.

They are doing many, many things wrong; but with regards manager selections, the last two are seemingly wise appointments by the club's management
