Strong rumours in the MSM that the government are looking at "renting" prison spaces in Estonia to hold those (and others) charged during the riots.

How would that work, wouldn't you have to staff them with British prison officers? We hardly have loads of those spare.

British prisoners could soon be housed in ESTONIAN jails

Estonia's minister of justice Liisa Pakosta yesterday said they have cells available to rent out to its Nato allies.

Depends how you see these things. I’m still unsure how cuplable id be if I just said it would be a good idea to kill Nick and someone did it. If there’s no coercion or influence or manipulation or even direct contact I’m really confused

Looks more like its an idea from the Estonian side. There's older articles from a couple of weeks ago where one of their ministers talks about offering out their spare prison capacity to generate income.

Can't imagine it would be cheap but something has to be done. Not sure how long we can run with a one in one out system.

I'd consider reighning it in now and I'd allow appeals to be held, then sentences reduced to six months and suspended for a couple of years where possible,he dealt with it, now go after the real destablers to everyday life!

Caught with drugs and knives. Did it again on bail. Less than somebody shouting at the police.

38 weeks in prison after admitting being concerned in the supply of cannabis, two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of a weapon for discharge of a noxious liquid – namely pepper spray.

Why are you dragging stories of people being killed and injured in here to try and score internet points? Nothing about what you post suggests you actually want to discuss law and order or public safety. Have a f*cking word with yourself.

FFS the issue with prison overcrowding has f*ck all to do with d*ckhead thugs getting locked up for riotting or inciting violence.

Thousands are locked up for getting high or being addicted to substances which is about as f*cking stupid an idea it gets.

Looking at CCFC fans posting some of the sh*t I see in here is genuinely depressing. Have a heart, stop being so f*cking hateful.

For anyone who thinks his or other sentences are unreasonable, if you look at the form, they've almost all got previous for similar offences and were jumping onto this bandwagon. Whilst completely unacceptable I'd have more sympathy with some of those who rode along with the wave of went on, but so many seem to have a back history of being a c**t.

this guy seems to be a full on white supremasist who would have had no problem if 50+ people had died from his actions

sentencing is always a bit of a lottery anyway. you can take pretty much anyone in prison and do 'but what about' and compare them to someone else with a much lighter / harsher sentence

I bet some of the first through the docks were thinking they'll be home by Christmas if they just plead guilty. What is it? 1/3 off straight away for pleading guilty, and now potentially having to serve as low as 20% of the sentence.

Political opponents.....! Trumpesque bull$h!t. There were hundreds looting, attacking police and innocent people, throwing objects and inciting hatred and extremism. Just like the Labour Dartford Councillor hopefully will, they have to serve time. Funny how the likes of the idiotic RW's are suddenly less interested in the Tory mantra of being 'tough on crime' and fail to acknowledge that the prison service is an utter shambles thanks to 14 years of complete and utter mis-governance..... on failing to tackle prison crisis, failing to tackle crime and failing to clamping down on extremism and racism.
Prison Reform Trust 2023 report:
" In 2016 Tory government announced £1.3bn for nine new prisons.
Nearly 10,700 prison places have been closed since 2010—many of them old and/or dilapidated. At the same time, nearly 11,000 places have been created, a net increase of just 300 prison places"
[between 2010 and 2023].

It really is an utter shit show and I love the report all the foreigners as if you can just do it
All while any meaningful management of the estate flies out the window as there’s no wriggle room for transfers or movement or any proper and meaningful activity
It’s fuckin pathetic and then starmer gets the blame for making a decision

I'd like to say I'm surprised some of you revelling in the blame game of one government or another. These are not either or for me. The cunts rioting deserve locking up. The cunts being freed should still be locked up. If we're running out of space then make prison building and expansion a priority. And until they're built, then make them 3 to a cell if necessary. Ffs if they don't like it tough, they're not in for a holiday.

Agree, but only after they've served their time or it can be guaranteed they will serve it in their home country. It seems presently that going home is a free pass.
