Dunno mate not the police nor was I there. I'm just explaining how the riots didn't fall out of thin air.

No, it's called sarcasm.

It is not relevant that someone turned up with a a knife and was quickly arrested.

But this Youtube channel being streamed from outside the court in Liverpool (i was just watching out of morbid curiosity) was just wall-to-wall horseshit in the comments. Maybe Google could close that channel down? But i doubt they would.

That picture is as claimed to be an Asian man with a machete but turned out to be the white guy with a flick knife I believe. The account screenshotted is openly racist and if this is what sparked the riots then it was more racist disinformation by the looks of it.

If a Muslim turned up with a machete ( and I can't believe this to be true ) and he was linked to the mosque then I can understand if people would be extremely angry but I'm not at all sure that the actions of those attacking the mosque were motivated by this . Did they know of this machete - weild

I think this is making excuses or creating a smokescreen for justifying the attack on the mosque. They are thick as shit, plain and simple, and assumed that anyone who had a different coloured skin was an illegal migrant and a Muslim. I even saw him being labelled as Boko Haram earlier, which i doubt!

Hilarious not that the MSM have to come clean that they will not address their own misinformation.

I was just watching Sky and they were going on about being a trustworthy source of news.

Well I suppose they can say say they did not directly lie but how do they expect ever to be taken seriously.

If he turned up with a machete and is a muslim then to some people it's fair game to aim their anger at the local mosque, whether he attends or not.
I don't believe it's true, but others might.

Robinson's footsoldiers. They get arrested while he's sipping cocktails by his pool.

There is a misunderstanding taking place here.

A riot happened, why? What caused a bunch of people to congregate and fly off the handle? This timeline being explained doesn't imply a condoning of the actions or an implicit support. You can analyse cause and effect scientifically without getting emotional.

Flippantly saying the excuse isn't good enough or not relevant is intellectually dishonest and generally dishonest, when the premise of the replies are a response to (ostensibly) asking for an explanation.

Children have been stabbed to death, that is the important actual topic here.

I think people are saying the excuse is a load of inaccurate shite spouted by racists and too quickly believed by idiots. Even in that picture the guy is clearly white but because he had a beard and a hat he must be a Muslim? And a flick knife becomes a machete.

Whatever way you spin it, it’s racists responsible for the racist riots just like it was Romanies responsible for the riots the other week, not social services.

bollocks, you can try and intellectualise a bunch of thigs who turned up drunk to a vigil and then kick off with the police and smash up a mosque.

it's intellectual dishonesty to pretend that they would of likely kicked off anyway as they did in London and seemingly in Hartlepool.

Yes children are dead, it's morally repugnant that people have used that as an excuse to have a fight with the police. Rightly they are all going to see long stretches for this.

My take on each of them individually - in Southport I agree. In Leeds as you say Romanies. Rochdale was peaceful protest and that's fine imo. London despite a few unsavouries was also largely peaceful made worse by the Police. Southend was gang related I understand. And wtf Hartlepool was about I have no idea, definitely racists, but I'm not sure they even knew what their cause was, simply a warm night, seen it elsewhere and fancied causing mayhem.

Maybe, but all this isn't just down to Chinese or Russian bots. Or the BBC or whatever. Some of our right-wing politicians such as Farage, Tice, Anderson need to take some responsibility. There are hundreds of pockets of right-wingers who are more than up to cause trouble. They don't need anyone in St Petersberg to egg them on.

I think the real issue is that it’s not media figures or politicians these days, it’s closed off WhatsApp groups with some really extreme shit being posted to them. And that’s on all sides, racists, islamists, Huw Edwards

I'm sure that has a lot to do with it too, especially when they are organising their marches and their protests. However, I don't think the influence of right wing politicians and people such as Fox, Robinson, etc should be underestimated.

Depends on what you've seen. I saw posts from a lot of the more moderate who said the policing was random and they let a lot of stuff go and took out bystanders. If I'd not spent the last 30 years watching similar stuff at football, I'd call them out for lying, but can well believe it with the met and some of the footage on X did look a bit heavy handed and ott. Were there racisst - absolutely and stirring the pot, but also lots who were with them for at least what they perceived as valid reasoning.

The police in London were trying to maintain law and order on the streets close to our seat of power and a number of high-profile targets (buildings, monuments and individuals). From what i have seen (ironically from media posted by people trying to spin it otherwise) they came under sustained and inexcusable attacks from pissed-up racist (or at least xenophobic) thugs, and took appropriate action, including kettling to effect arrests of people who had committed offences.
As for the riots in Leeds and Southport, the police took the same course of action to contain the rioters, so this bollocks about "letting the Muslims get away with it" in Leeds, while clamping down hard on "patriots" in Southport is just that.

Hartlepool is just monkey-hanging territory and a law unto themselves!

It is sad when you know you are being fed misinformation and need to find out what is actually going on by shall we say non official media sources.

I am sure I am not the only one who sees a story and gets an immediate sense that they are being fed a Porky, the thing is the Media no longer control the story, pretty easy to ping around and have your suspicions confirmed.

We now have a Fool me once type situation that you see a news story and your first thought is to wonder what the real truth is.

Robinson is definitely very influential. Particularly because he’s not media or a politician who have very low trust I think. I just think the whole distribution channels have changed, there’s zero platform control or state oversight of what’s shared these days and it leads to more and more extreme loosely knit groups. Be it EDL, ISIS, or a pedo ring. Really not sure how you put that genie back in the bottle. It might be TR content shared now but it would just be “88MAGALUVR69” otherwise.

I dont think Leeds was Muslim. It was Rochdale they were moaning at outside the police station after the copper in the airport thing, but from what I could see they were aggravating and protesting quite aggressively, but all within the law and there were no need for any arrests.

It was allegedly sparked by the Roma community in Leeds, but there was an awful lot of south Asians taking part in the violent conduct.

I'm sure innocents were caught up in it, but I find it pretty staggering that some people just stand there filming stuff on their phones while it's all kicking off. Chances are you are going to get caught up in it and arrested. Just leave.
