But when you try to be constructive and you just end up with more and more bigotry to justify it you're not engaging in conversation you're allowing a platform for someone to present some pretty unsavoury views.Surely it's being constructive and trying to discuss things and point out issues?

I cannot bring myself to view the pictures of these children. I'd mentioned what I would do in that narrow context if I was involved in that movement - which I'm not.OK so you have an issue with somebody saying "take to the streets" and being called out on it.
Yet you posted this about people arming themselves and taking to the streets? You also mention civil disobedience and not being peaceful.

It was an analysis of a moment of history and in a very American context. It was also a discussion about violent and non-violent protest which is something I have studied at length.
Of course I don't encourage people knocking around with automatic weapons, if you note my posting history I am very pro gun control.
It's very different to someone saying we should take to the streets in this country, now, and attack a vulnerable population.
