The other thing again linking in with the politics page ia squeezed budgets
Policing comes from council tax and this hasn’t kept up with inflation
Remove coppers and crime increases gosh really
Well I’m not fuckin paying to improve things

Like most things fucking reform say is just bollox to make you scared and who is to blame for making you scared

Our own history you know how bleak and dangerous Coventry was in the early 80’s or can’t you remember

Thinking back to then too it was the same argument irrespective of the fact that most of our African Caribbean brothers shared the same Christian faith. They don’t look like us they don’t work like us they don’t assimilate
Just crock of shit from the Nigel Farage Tommy Robinson Rupert lower Lee Anderson’s of the day
Well we pulled together once and told them to fuck off we can do it again

It looks like we only started caring in 2012/2013
Those figures are murders of course horrendous crime happens with knives that don’t end in death of course
I suppose though it won’t be much less than 20 a year and it may have even been more it’s such a small figure

The suspect bought a knife in last week and was suspended. Yesterday was his first day back. It was filmed and is all over the Internet. Usual suspects involved.

If a child brought a weapon into school they should have been permanently excluded at that point with immediate effect.

The streets and schools would be safer with them wankers inside, that's where I'm coming from. Caught with a knife chuck em inside and throw away the key. These ain't pen knives were talking about here. They're barbaric weapons that should need licences

But what is the use of chucking everyone immediately on the scrapheap? There has to be a chance to redeem themselves while at the same time them being taught about the severity of what they've done.

If they're caught with a knife then they should get a second chance, so a hefty suspended sentence with them left in no doubt there would be zero leniency if they do it again and they will be getting sent down. Also mixed in with some sort of unpaid community work and ideally work with a therapist to get to the root of the behaviour. I know there will be plenty, probably including yourself, that will scream 'woke nonsense' but fact is those kinds of programmes have far better results than traditional punishments. Trouble is they don't get funding and the same people that complain about the collapse of society tend to be the same ones that are steadfastly against paying to make it better.

Of course if they actual attack someone, or indeed kill them, then they do need to be sent down, but mixed in with the other aspects I mention above. I know this wouldn't be allowed but I've always wondered if there could be a controlled way of letting offenders experience the pain of being stabbed/shot as a potential means of deterrence. Wouldn't work on all but surely a fair few would think twice.

Southport triple-murderer, Axel Rudakubana, who attacked over a dozen girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class last summer has attacked a Police Officer in Belmarsh Prison, throwing boiling water over them.

Surely that’s pretty bizarre incompetence from the prison guards to let someone so clearly deranged have access to boiling water?

There’s a difference between hot and boiling water. But no, he shouldn’t have access to boiling water.

It’s a deadly weapon. We wouldn’t allow him steak knives either but it’s not because we want to deny him the pleasure of a medium rare.

Perhaps when the poor lamb says he liked home cooked chips we should let him have access to a deep fryer as well

What could go wrong?

They resvoked prisoner access rights to the kitchen after the last incident but he still had access to a kettle. Joined up thinking.
