Chairman reported by the beeb as saying -

'the club's wage bill is the eighth-highest in League One and would be halved to £1.5m if they are relegated to the fourth tier.'

Man alive. Another completely unsustainable club.

in which case they are massively underachieving.
Also seems to contradict what Andy Holt at Accrington said regarding little difference in turnover between L1 an L2.
I've still got a feeling they'll get a result against Rotherham.

I guess it’s all relative - the difference between L1 & L2 will be much smaller then between L1 & Championship or Championship & EPL.

Was told by a Southend supporter he thinks they are gone. All players of any value have been sold
Apparantly the stands etc need a lot of attention and thus cost
The ground has planning permission for development so that may have to be sold

Stadium was in a state last time I@ went and that was a while ago now. God knows what it's like at the moment

He said "he could not see it lasting in the league" and could drop to the bottom ( dare not think where that is in Southend!)

If they collapsed before the end of the season the results table could be interesting.

Think of it more as only the clubs on their last legs are interested
