Hmm, interesting one this.

They drew 0-0 at Peterborough at the weekend, but the previous 3 results were lost 4-2 at Swindon, lost 0-3 at home to Doncaster and 0-4 at home to Millwall.

I would take a draw, but we really need to start winning games asap.

I can't see any reason why we shouldn't win this one....TM is well aware of the mistakes we made v Burton and I'm sure they'll be addressed. Our squad is strong, so I guess it's all done to picking the right team from a very capable bunch!

not going to be as cold looking like a barmy 10 degrees, but don't bring your swimmers. great transport cafe style F&B area, used to be run by 'your gran' lovely old dears but not the fastest.

35 minute journey for me so looking forward to it.

result, sorry but not a good feeling, at best a draw, would love us to sneak a 1-0.

Need to start picking up 3 points asap, loose or draw this and we could be looking over our shoulder as 7th gets dangerously close

Really need to get back to winning ways, although i like the lad i think Lameiras has to be dropped with JOB coming back into the side, does anyone know if we have anyone who can replace Phillips? Although to be honest I think I'd be happier with Burge starting at RB. They are in horrible form but then again ours isn't the best. I'll go with the heart on this one as I can't face another away trip without the 3 points. 2-0 city, both in the 2nd half, Murphy and Vincelot to bag

As a Southend fan, I'd be more than happy with a point! Especially after our results before the 0-0 draw against "Cheating FC" on Saturday.

Why cheating? What happened?

Typical Graham Westley style football. Players staying down for no reason then instantly running round a few seconds after as though nothing happened.

Can add the linesman to the cheating category as well. When he flagged for a penalty to Boro in the last minute, he actually signalled for a throw, a corner, a penalty and a substitution all at once. If you get the chance to watch those highlights, watch them more than once, paying particular attention to the linesman. I don't even think it's a foul in the first place.

Gary Deegan said it looked like he (the lino) was trying to land a plane.

Never a pen as it was a dive that was clear. The Lino just highlights the idiots we have to deal with officiating in this league. It's atrocious

Lorentzson in for Phillips, Bigi or Rose in for Fleck, Hunt in for Murphy and JOB in for Lameiras. City 2-0 win

Can't see Lorentzson in the team myself. Quite telling he only played 45 mins on Saturday while Hunt and Rose played the whole 90.

Think we are easing Lorentzson back in. Maybe the following week for him I would have thought.

We know Graham Westley well!!!

Really hope they don't make the play-offs with him in charge.

Looks like he's auditioning for airline cabin crew in the video:

Have a feeling we'll win comfortably on Saturday and restart our title push.

They've got the best keeper in the league imo in Bentley. He saved a pen at our place and that last minute Tudgay chance, great save to get them a point

Ahem ... it's a MUST win so I will stick my neck out and say 1-3 to us. Prediction: Maddison wont play.

Are people heading to the (Sky) Blue Boar for beers before as per the friendly Southend fan's post?

Big game. Don't win this and we'll most likely be down to 5th, looking behind us rather than in front.

Based on what I heard last week team I would go with for Southend - somewhat
controversial but going for experience in the main where possible on this one!
Armstrong/Maddison to come on when oppo/Joe Cole start to tire!

RCC GK
Ricketts RB
Ramage CB
Stokes CB
Haynes LB
Vincelot DCM
Bigi DCM
Cole ACM
Job ACM
Murphy ACM
Tudguy ACM

Subs: Burge, Phillips, Hunt, Rose, Maddison, Fortune, Armstrong

Anyone know if The Sky Blues café in Westcliff-on-Sea is anything to do with us ? Been past it a few times but not had the chance to stop off and check it out.

I like that team! I like the thought of Hunt at left back too. Played there before and so much experience.

My favourite part of this team is that Fortune is not on the bench.

On the whole a good line up. But not sure that is the position for Rose? I feel he is a longer term investment where as Cole and Hunt are shorter term. I think Mowbrey feels he has the athleticism and basic skills, but has hinted his football brain and tactical awareness needs to be sharpened. I can see him being used from the bench until next year.

Not a bad team, but Murphy needs to be dropped. A place in the starting 11 sends all the wrong messages to a player who has not put sufficient effort in for the last few games.

He got his tenth yellow mate, so he's suspended for the next two games.
