Good passing move by Southend, Burge saves and two Southend players go for the same ball. Only thing Phillips could do was take a chance, and didn't back out despite being on a yellow. Ref feels pen is enough punishment.

Pen taken, straight down the middle. Burge doesn't really move, and gets something on it but the power takes it past him

1-2

Yep, no surprise but still annoying nevertheless! Same old shit defending. Southend may have missed two sitters but we were comfortable before we went ahead. Self destruct button pressed good and proper.

Lino gives foul in reda's favour, ref overrules him and gives a goal kick. OK, we still get possession but that seemed a bit of an odd advantage

Going forward we've been ok but I'm sure Thdgay will get a run out.

The problem is the old defensive woes are resurfacing. The Burge gamble isn't working. Johnson hasn't been great all season at the bag and he was partly culpable for both goals. Never seen anything on Phillips to suggest he's any better than Haynes at the back.

Not good.

Are we so open at the back cause midfield aren't getting back. Burger cracking save before pen

Southend are crap but we don't seem hungry at all. They want it more than us. 1-0 up flattered us.

Didn't look a pen to me but I was far away.

Isn't this the same southend who haven't won a game and struggling to score goals?

Jesus Christ.

Fair enough 1-1, but to go from 1-0 to 1-2 in 6 minutes is a joke.

Apparently Phil Brown nearly punched the 4th official in celebrating their goal.

No Johnson is just missing balls. He constantly tries to get in front of the forward and is getting caught out.

Burge is just poor.

Half time 1-2 Southend.

Poor defending for their first, even the penalty we brought on ourselves with the move that led up to the foul being conceded.

Armstrong is isolated up top on his own. Whilst he has the men behind him, we seem to be wanting to pass it into the net. Even when our midfielders have the ball on the edge of the area they don't seem to want to shoot.

Only one or two where players have looked at having a crack, Armstrong considered another lob attempt from distance but think the weather stopped him giving it another go, and then the Obrien one that was cleared off then line.

Improvement needed and I'd be tempted to being Tudgay on for Murphy, who whilst he is staying in the line, hasn't really had the effect we needed. Could potentially being Morris on instead, but think Tudgay will allow us to change our shape

People talked about a blip after the Walsall game.

Could it now prove to be that the blip wasn't that one defeat , but in fact those first 3 wins?

Now shipped 6 goals in 2 and a half games, so back to last season's woes, again we are being outmuscled and we are once again error riddled.

Armstrong marked out of the game (missing Maddison more than some would admit?). Lameiras hot and cold, Philips at fault for 2nd goal and Murphy looks really nervy and lacking confidence on the left.

Only JOB looked decent for me.

Doesn't help but Phil brown is the biggest twat on this planet and appeals for everything and behaves like a school kid. The fact his team is winning is really pissing me off.

He cheered the goals like he won the fa cup. Prick. I wouldn't mind but they score and it's like the World Cup has been won. I know they don't score many but this is awful.

Phil brown just watch him second half for any one who is there.

Think he'd have been punching the ref if they hadn't atleast equalised

I thought I was going to have a couple of them behind me too. Straight off they were playing 'referee'
