I think the 8/9 training days we've had since losing Maddison will have helped our preparations for a plan B.

True. Was hoping though that our plan B included bringing in fresh blood to our very thin squad for the game tomorrow. Do also think a plan B, or C, or D, or whatever, at some point, needs to include playing the ball up to a big strong physical striker.

I am going for a 3-1 win, even without Maddison we will have too much for them. Armstrong, Reda and Murphy to score in that order.

I think that TM will have used some of the extra training time to tighten up at the back. I can't see Southend scoring. 2-0 to Sky Blues.

Should be a home banker this one however losing the players we have is a big blow. Hopefully more prep time will have helped with the reorganisation of the side.

Think Murphy will replace Madison but another option might be to play Tudgay and shift Armstrong out wide. If Tudgay can come deep, drags central defenders out if position it would give Armstrong and others plenty of space to run in behind.

Someone is waiting on Cov for 22k not the type of team you want to be relying on for that money

Not forgetting that we lost last week and seeming that we were outplayed It was just by the one goal, with Armstrong hitting the woodwork.
They smashed someone 4-0 yesterday, I don't see Southend posing level of threat.
2-0 to us.

Yes that would have been ideal.

I'd like to also see Tudgay fit in somewhere but don't think he could come in with the current set up.

Two posts in 4 years - nothing like dipping your toe in the water, is there. I'm going to give you a 'like' in case you run off for another couple of years! You'll get a few more likes if your prediction comes in !

All we can do is hope it's one of the Southend players

Wasn't someone though, Wingy, it was Blackpool.

That's like playing against your grandma who's blind and only has one leg.

I remember some young Blackpool fans walking away from the Ricoh after a night match a few years ago taking the piss out of our situation with our owners .................how times change !!

CCFC said 9,000 sold. Packages, no idea on the number: Bit of a walk up, people off work. 700 away fans apparently. Maybe 12,000 which would be good support for a Monday night rescheduled game in League 1

Was it 11K that was touted as the minimum average gate we need?

Will be nice to average 12k, extra 1,000 ticket money in TM's pocket for Jan window

Confident of a win. There has been too much talk about Madison and his 'starring' role. Our squads thin but it's not a complete mess for the absence on one young man and a defender who has not been very good if I was honest.
2nd place beckons and Reda is die a headed goal.

I just had another look at the Southend forum again..is it just a site created by there rivals posing as Southend fans to take the piss out of them? Every single poster, and I mean every single one, is predicting a Southend win. They've scored one goal in 5 games and haven't won a game.

Obviously they'll beat us now I've posted this.

Who cares anyway?

Obviously Southend contain less people determined to be negative and rundown there club at every available opportunity than we do.

It's the big club small club mentality. They think they are a big small club and will beat everyone. Whereas we are a small big club and will whinge about everything.

Need to sun to come out to encourage the walk ups.

I'm going 0-0. Just can see us missing open goals and southend getting lucky.

Will be more than that. Ticket sales pretty healthy apparently.

Think the rain this morning could help the walk-up. People less likely to spend the day doing anything else.

Confident about tonight. Think we'll win comfortably.

Confident we will win tonight. The starting XI will still look very strong with Murphy coming in.

2-0, Armstrong and Murphy.

Will take any sort of win tonight but we should be beating teams like Southend at home if we have any real aim of getting out of this division, 1-0 city murphy on score sheet 11658.

I'm sure that others could reach the same conclusion looking at this forum too.

Heart is saying 2-0, head and the pessimistic City fan in me saying 0-0. Must win game if we want to remain in the upper echelon's of the league against opposition who I believe will struggle to stay in the division.

I'll stick with the 2-0 for now.. Reda with a bullet header from a set piece, with JOB keeping up his good start to the season to seal it.

Looking at the online sales so far, it's going to be quite a crowd out for this one ! Any sort of a walk up is going to see a few more blocks open for sure !

Hopefully. It's a measure of how far we have fallen that we consider 12k to be a good crowd. Just a few years ago when we were treading water in the Championship that would have been terrible. Got to get these people back regularly. I worry that a bad run of results and we're back down to 8K. Don't want to think about that.

The club do so little to promote things though. They should be travelling the streets with a loud hailer on a crap day like this, pumping it out on radio, in the papers and on billboards, E mails to the database etc etc
