What has FL done to get the abuse he is getting? I know he upset Leeds fans during play-offs & there is a video of some fans, Stoke?, giving him abuse as he warms up & then Chelsea scores and he celebrates in front of them He was a fantastic player for Chelsea & England & I preferred him to Gerrard but we weren't in the PL for most of his playing days so I don't know if he did something to upset opposition fans

He was supposed to be shite. But since taking over we have become a different side and now he has become a target. He takes it all in his stride and gives it back. He loves celebrating with the players and ourselves. Just what they want to see especially at away games

Look at the constant comments. We hadn't played anyone decent yet were beating our rivals away. The Championship is supposedly poor this season but their clubs that are well below us are still supposedly good

My favourite was each time Wright and EMC got in front of their players having a go they just smiled and the other players stopped immediately

Being a modern football fan is to hurl absolute dog's abuse at someone for hours at a time, the kind of treatment you wouldn't tolerate for longer than three seconds on the streets, then start clutching your pearls and screeching like a Jane Austen character the second your target gives you anything back

It's complete jealousy as he was a bloody good footballer and he is probably bigger than the division itself - We have a tendency as a country to want to build up our elite level footballers to tear them down, you only have to look as far as the Jude Bellingham situation at the moment

People online are suggesting fines, 10-point deduction, etc etc for Coventry. Not for Southampton though... Others suggesting managers and players must all leave the pitch immediately after the game as in 'the good old days' to stop this 'sort of thing' happening. Isn't this all a bit OTT?

How many points have Sheff U been docked for all the fights they've been in, plus loony Wilder's antics?
The grand total of NONE! but they have been fined, so probably that's what both teams will get this time .

No one will be docked points for a bit of argie bargie. Points docking is for serious wrongdoing, especially financial. They will prefer a bit of dosh as a penalty with little chance of legal repercussions

Points deduction for Southampton for having such classless fans would be more in order.

I hated Lampard before he came here. I was really disappointed when I heard he was coming here, my least favourite choice. He was part of that horrible Chelsea team under Abramovic and Mourinho with Terry and Drogba etc. They were very good and very arrogant and very corrupt (dodgy Russian money etc). Lampard came across as arrogant to me. I wasn't overly impressed with his managerial career either. I have had to change my view and am now a big fan of his work and have warmed to his personality.

Saints and Coventry charged by FA after full-time St Mary's brawl

Championship clubs Saints and Coventry City have both been charged by the FA following a mass brawl after their recent 1-1 draw at St Mary's.

I know what you mean but I do think we need to be mindful of the gap to Middlesborough as well. If Ipswich finish in the top two - as I think they could - then we need to be ahead of Middlesborough or whatever other team might have taken their place to go up automatically.

I really want us to beat Ipswich. I fancy us to do so, provided we are able to put out something close to our strongest side.

I have to be careful how I word this as I do not want to throw any muck at Robins

But even if he does let his emotions get the better of him at times, I bloody love how Lampard stands up for us like he did on Saturday and like he does when we are on the end of a bad refereeing decision

It was MR's style and persona which he is entitled and was part of what made made him great but he was always a little bit passive about stuff like that

I get that, Robins was a stoic figure on the touchlines and that comes across as passive and what not. Him cheering in front of the ball boy v Wolves was v much out of character!

With Lampard, much more up for the scrap as we seen in his Chelsea days when you could him hear him giving it large to Klopp in the covid days.

Lampard’s persona definitely helped him ingratiate himself with the faithful and the players. I can’t imagine a stoic, reserved figure like Robins would’ve played as well.

To be fair Robins never got the shit Lampard gets just because of his high profile.
He handles it well but he's only human and is going to react occasionally. I'm all for it, should get a few bucket rattlers outside the turnstiles boxing day to get a Franks Fine Fund together.
