Glad he came through that as in the slow motion replay I thought he had injured his ankle

Thought Bidwell did fine tbh - just needed him to stand up their attackers and head stuff away really. It was a good decision to move to a back 5, as he would have been murdered at LB, but he did well at LCB, and it suited Brau as well. Arguably we should have done it as soon as Dasilva went off.

Very happy with today. Deny Southampton 3 points, dealt with injuries and just look like a team that rises to every challenge. If it wasn't for JDS brain fuck would gave been sitting 13 points clear tonight. Let him off though he has been great and we all gave a daft moment in us. 39 points from 24 games required I reckon

13 points? How do you work that out?

Totally agree. I think the whole team played really well, I was disappointed, again, with Haji, but maybe I’m expecting too much of him.

No, Haji bottled the counter attack where the penalty shout happened. His first touch was so poor, it made the GK favourite and meant the penalty wasn’t given.

Ngl, Simms should be reinstated to the starting eleven. Haji hasn’t scored since October and needs to earn his spot back imo.

Lampard got all his subs and tactics right today. Being super harsh, probably should’ve went 3 atb earlier but he adapted quickly after the equaliser. Allen gave us legs in the middle, same with KKH when we needed it, Brau and Bidwell defended well and Simms did alright defensively.

He has made some great plays imo.
Not been rewarded. Ref last week pen , this week pen.
Preston down to 10 men as a result of his break.
Keep backing Haji.

Agreed but hindsight is 20:20 and feel like EMC was playing well so initially felt it was a strange decision to take him off.

Had we went 2-1 down we’d have been in a bad spot because we did not have the means to pinch a goal. Which shows that we need reinforcement in Jan.

Probably our best point this season and we coped so well with the absences.

PNE are away for Boxing Day & the 29th, we’ll extend our lead on them. It depends on whether Millwall, Hull and Ipswich pull points back.

The 29th is shaping up to be a huge game.

Yeah I think it’s good to see this side of it to remind me of perspective, I will concede at this point I’m just frustrated he didn’t seem to run enough today and has missed too many quality chances recently. I just hope the tide turns in terms of his goal conversion.

Disappointed with Dasilva’s unnecessary challenge. Important player. 11v11 we’d be sitting 8 points clear, no doubt. Another poor show from Wright.

Have to admit that I was nervous when I saw the starting line up, concerned when JDS was sent off and gave up hope when KKH came on, but to be fair the boys dug in and showed a hell off a lot of spirit. That point could be crucial come the end of the season.

JDS’s challenge was totally a red, but you can see what he’s trying to do. He thinks he will get to the ball way earlier and has the foot raised to anticipate the bounce. His leg was bent, not some straight leg lunge. Anyway, he’s forgiven because he’s been immense this season.

Idiotic comment. I told you earlier in the thread that I take the vaccines because I’m immuneo-compromised. Hence I got the COVID jabs on the 2nd/3rd wave and entitled to free flu jabs yearly. This year, I opted not to take the jab because I’d already got the flu around October.

If you want to pay for vaccine every year, that’s your personal choice but most younger people don’t need it because if they do get, they’ll be alright. The data is showing it’s the decrease in vaccine take up amongst over-50s is driving the issues in the NHS

These are collated surveys published on Gov.uk fyi. Not really ‘guess work’ but there’s obviously a margin for error. What the data does show is that take up is decreasing year on year in consecutive years.
Infection Does Not Equal Full Immunity

Having the flu in October doesn't necessarily protect you for the rest of the season because the "flu" isn't one virus; it’s a group. If you caught Influenza A in October, you are still vulnerable to Influenza B. The annual vaccine is quadrivalent, meaning it’s designed to protect against the four most likely strains circulating that year.
Waning Immunity is also a big problem, especially for those who are immunocompromised, natural immunity from an infection can be short-lived compared to the broader "prime" the vaccine provides.

The "Younger People are Fine" thing is a total myth. While younger people are less likely to die from the flu, the argument that they don't need it overlooks two factors:

Transmission: Healthy young people are the primary Vectors (spreaders). By getting vaccinated, they create a shield around vulnerable people (like yourself) who might not have a strong immune response to the jab.
Complications: Even in healthy adults, the flu can trigger pneumonia, myocarditis (heart inflammation), or long flu symptoms.

NHS Pressures are a collective Issue.
While the over-50s demographic is the most high-risk group for hospitalization, NHS pressures aren't driven by just one age group.
When vaccine uptake drops among the young, the virus circulates more freely in the community. This inevitably reaches the elderly and vulnerable, regardless of how many boosters they take. A surge in flu cases among any age group leads to more GP appointments, more A&E visits, and more staff sickness within the NHS itself, which cripples the system's ability to function.

Just got.back. took an hour to get out of Southampton but I dont care. What a game today. So proud of 'em.

I saw Frank fist pumping towards their fans and thought he'd lost his mind! Brilliant passion.

I reckon we'll go up now. A season defining game.

Or they might think that as the hospitals are so full of vaccinated patients its probably not worth bothering with as it appears to of done fuck all for them.

Ever noticed how the more flu vaccines there are, the more pandemics there seems to be?

I love the entitled outrage of football fans who can scream blue murder at a manager for two hours and call him every offensive name under the sun but as soon as he sarcastically gives them a thumbs up their legs give way and they start dialling 999.
