Held tonight, inaugural meeting, very well attended. Guests David Meyler, Dom Hyam and Bakayoko. Good fun, Meyler on particularly good form. These events are great for fostering a real sense of togetherness between fans and the players whose human side we can often forget. Clive Eakin and our own budding media star Ollie asking questions and fair play to Matt Cowley as MC.

Did you find out any "gossip"?

David Meyler was very open about being shut out of the picture at Reading. It’s clear he will be a real leader and from all three it seems that he’s already positively influencing the dressing room. Nice little vignette about him physically ejecting Nigel Adkins from the dressing room because he’d gone in without knocking. Dom open in accepting blame for Luton’s goal, Baka said how much hearing his song means to him and how much he wants to repay City fans, takes the offside element in good humour. Three good lads and a great night. There was a raffle and Meyler just went out to his car and got a couple of pairs of boots to sign and offer as extra prizes.

Have noticed that about Meyler, seems to have come in and instantly commanded respect.

Did he say anything about next season?

Does the Southam supporters club cover surrounding areas such as Banbury?

I thought it was fairly near to Banbury to be honest, until I just googled it.

They need to setup a supporters club in Banbury, as I met a few lads from there a few years back, who said there is a big Cov fan base there.

was it Rochdale where he didn't play but came on the pitch at the end and went round congratulating all the players? I like to see stuff like that from the senior pros, especially with such a young team.

Does he just casually drive round with spare pairs of boots in case a kickabout breaks out in the lanes?

Sounds like a good and productive meeting, it is good to hear the players speak without being so cagey as they usually are in pre and post-match interviews. Any videos to share?

I was born in Banbury and brought up in its locality and there is a large Cov support in the area. All my cousins ,and I have a big family, are Cov fans. They stopped going regularly in the Northampton debacle period, though they are showing signs of returning interest, no doubt just in time for another exodus to a nearby town.

Definitely a fair size fan base here in Banbury, not sure about the younger generations tho.

I was there last night and endorse what was said above. All players spoke well but David Mehler stood out as a leader and story teller
A big well done to those who organised and contributed

I'm Banbury based too and it's only my boy at his football club that's ever (and always  ) in the Cov kit. Probably he's the only one at his school too.

I know at least 25 Cov fans in Banbury.

Used to be a good set of lads on the 10.24am train to Cov.

Great (boozy) days on the walk from Cov station up through town and Far Gosford Street to the home of football that was HR.

They were the days!

One of my favourite moments from last night was when David Meyler was asked about how much coaching Oggy does. His reply was along the lines...”listen, if some feckin goalkeeper came up to me and tried to feckin tell me how to play Centre midfield...”

This has to be the reason we can't finish, Oggy always does the shooting practice drill on match day's.
