Sometimes you have to take 1 step back to go 2 steps forwards if we get relagated i think it could be a good thing so we can revamp our squad and get a new side. Can we do a norwich or southampton they went into admin now look at them but if we dont go back up after 2 seasons were doomed to stay in league 1 or go down thats the sad reality really

Don't know how old you are, but this was the sentiment before we went down from the Prem. It's not a good idea. Nothing is certain in football and we would be more likely to get relegated to L2 or spend a decade down the bottom of L1 than bounce up a la Leicester/Forest/Leeds

See what you mean, but the drop from the prem is far bigger than championship to league one; it's more than possible that we could assemble a competitive championship side in lge1, ala Norwich and Fester.... How depressing that we're talking like this 3 games into the season though eh?

Stupid thread. We will go down, sell off all our best players. Replace them with a bunch of academy kids and one or two free signings, probably finish about 10-12 first season. Then it will be a slippery slope from there on.
Teams like Leicester/Southampton etc. had the finance to get back up we do not.

if we go down, we will stuggle to come back up, all the players would be sold and finances would be even worse ass attendances would be very low and you would loose tv revenue etc, more likely to be relegated again than get promoted

The ability of Norwich, Southampton, Leeds and in the not so distant future Sheff Weds to bounce back from obscurity stronger has a great deal to do not only with investors but also the fan base. That's not to criticise ours but if you look at Norwich they're only competition for fans in pretty much the whole of east anglia is colchester and ipswich!!! Is it any wonder their season tickets are through the roof?? Southampton have the whole of the south coast along with Portsmouth and Bournemouth??? Leeds is a major city, a club steeped in history, major following, its more a case of when and not if they return to the top flight. Leicester and Forest = $$$$$$$ = exciting signings = big attendences = $$$$$$
