There is definitely a more professional look to the club since DK took over and credit to him for that.

I think we have an excellent chance of making the playoffs and a decent chance of automatic promotion.

If we were languishing in the bottom 3 after Christmas there’s no way King would wait for the 5 years to be up to judge the situation.

Obviously because that would not fit the 5 year plan??? Promotion doesn't have to be instant but he will expect us to be at least competitive in the top half. Although progress won't strictly be measured by league position.

I agree. I think it would take a lot for us to get to that level. We have a strong team but lack that extra bit of class that we had with Hamer and Gyokeres. I don’t know but I don't think we can afford to buy that level of player,
Well we certainly couldn’t afford to sign that level of player - when we actually did sign the two players you mentioned.

So he can’t score against them as I think he has a really good record against them.

That is Callum Doyle not Callum Wilson, different players; already information on. Doyle transfer on other threads.

wasnt his actual plan something like "make the play offs 3 out of the next 5 years, with one of them ending in promotion"?

or have i made the play off bit up?

if it was, we are only allowed one more year out of 4 not making the play offs to be on track according to DK

He wanted a cup run last year and got it. Perhaps he has learnt a cup run and a promotion push don't necessarily go hand in hand?

Whilst it is fantastic that these positive changes are happening.... in reality they are just bringing us up to the level needed to compete at the top end of the championship.... and still don't really put us on a competitive footing with the relegated clubs.

Hate to put a dampener on things, but its possible we may never make the Premier League (or not in the next ten years or so).

I do think a large portion of our support think that promotion in the next couple of seasons is inevitable.

dont disagree but how long has it been since we had a setup at that level at all?

We'll never be able to compete with relegated teams in that respect (nobody will, until they get promoted themselves), thats the issue with parachute payments.

Our job is to be the "best of the rest" - which i think we are well on track for, i cant remember the last time all 3 relegated sides got promoted, so best of the rest usually does it!

Not if you operate with a paper thin squad and don't utilise the loan market they don't.

The fact we can have this thread should evidence itself of where we all think the clubs heading. You need the infrastructure first to build the club, Robins needed help with the fine margins that makes the difference on a Saturday and DK has done that with the sports performance and Ryton revamp. He has given the management team the tools so its over to them, as long as the players can understand what they are being asked to do then were going to have a great season. If we get a couple of more signings through the door we are arguably in the best position for a promotion push then we have ever been, Robins will need to extract the most he can from the players though, if you have the tools to do the job you also have the expectation that comes with it, there are no excuses unfortunately.

Yes it was, it came after “Instant Success”, which nearly resulted in instant relegation until Adams took over.

Someone should do a timeline of all of the eras with these ridiculous names.

Right now I think we're in our "join the journey" era.

I think this is probably right which is why it was so surprising we didn't add some loans in January when we were fifth to see us into the play offs. We might end up really regretting that.

Exactly right. The anti SISU apologists might whine about SISU but Richardson and Robinson really did their best to destroy CCFC.

The damage done by R and R will be long and lasting

100% right, R and R were reason for our decline, SISU just made it worse blundering from mistake to mistake.

Lot of money for a player who can't seem to play a whole season without injury.
Shame as he would have been an England regular.
