Have the Swansea and Ipswich games sold out already? Good going if so.

Yes, no Ipswich tickets left either now. Not everyone agrees but the kick off time is 6pm. Pub before and after

Selling out those two should mean average home attendance for first half of the season over 30,000!

Still don't get why we've got a 6pm kick off on a normal working day. Best I can hope for is to get there during half time.

The chances of my boss letting me knock off early because there’s football are practically zero, even if I’m sat there with no work to do because all our clients are off.

Be interesting to see how many season tickets go up for resale if / when they open the exchange and how many people are turning up late.

At what point do the EFL say no? There’s reports that Sky want Christmas Day games, what if they decide Friday night football at 6pm is a ratings winner?

It's a rubbish kick off time isn't it with people still working that day. It looks like it's for TV with Sky showing 2 back to back Championship games on their main channels.

Xmas Day games were commonplace back in the day (not sure until when though ? Maybe 1950s) but Cmas wouldn’t have been anywhere near as commercialised then of course. I think they were morning kick offs

In this day and age though Xmas day games should be a total non starter . I think we all can have a day off from football

It can't be that rubbish as it's sold out the home and away allocation

Whether it's sold out or not it's still a rubbish kick off time on a working day. But that's TV companies for you. Looking forward to the 2 sell outs over Christmas

Not seen anything about the ticket exchange being open for any of these games yet?

Is it too much hassle to sort out?

We will need a second tier building on when in the premier league. We need a capacity of 40/45k. Always said 32k was not big enough for a one club city the size of Coventry. The game is so much bigger these days.

Only risk for me is if we got relegated there is a very good chance we go back to having a ground that is too big for us that looks quite frankly ridiculous again

I personally think 32,500 is just right for the foreseeable future, we have a happy medium of games selling out., but people who desperately want a ticket getting one - If we do get promoted, you have to question if anyone who would struggle for a home ticket in the Premier League are actually turning up to support us, or just showing up cause it is a Premier League fixture

It is rubbish. I’ve had to take the day off work for it as wouldn’t get there otherwise.

6pm on a work day is taking the absolute piss

Can't contemplate expanding until we've had 4 or 5 seasons of selling out

Would also knock a chunk off the capacity in the short term as we wouldn't be able to complete works during the off-season

Much as I love the idea of us getting promoted this season and being successful next season King will be very cautious of any major infrastructure changes requiring tens of millions in investment off the back off a very small sample size of sold out games.

Will it really be a struggle to get tickets next January if we're rock bottom of the PL on single digit points looking forward to a Monday 8pm kick off against another struggling team with tickets far more expensive than they are now?

This is basically Richardson's business case for the Ricoh in the first place. The bigger PL games would sell out so the extra capacity is justified. It took us decades to recover so not sure we should be heading down that road again too quickly.

Lets wait until we sell out week in, week out and have a decent season ticket waiting list. Thats when you start talking about major expansion IMO.

This isn't the 90s anymore, people don't just work 9-5 and have the weekends off. The people moaning about 6pm kick off over the Xmas and New Year period, you don't hear a peep out of when the kick offs suit them.

It would have been a struggle for me but luckily it is my bday, which the company I work for gives me off so I am all good

In any case, a 6pm kick off on a normal working day is unheard of

I guess it depends on the industry you work in. None of my customers or suppliers are at work on the 29th. They close 24th and re-open 5th Jan.

I would imagine most, if not all factories are shut down over Xmas

My line of work is Bank Holiday's and weekends off only

25th & 26th off then back in until 1st and back in again on the 2nd. Thankfully my current place doesn't do on call on the 3 days we actually get off.

Are you just getting given extra days on top of annual leave? I'm in the wrong job.

28 days holiday but told to keep 3 days for the xmas period. We've also been given the 2nd off as it lands on a Friday.
