...by new owners at an established restaurant, lets call it TastyFood.

The owners say they will support you and give you the same budget as the previous Head Chef, who was sacked.

Then, 11 of the Chef's working under you leave, due to contracts ending and better employment offers from elsewhere. The owners say they have offered improved contracts to those leaving, but in reality, they haven't because they're looking to cut costs. They even brag about this to the local paper.

So, as an inexperienced Head Chef, you have to bring your cooking staff back up full strength. The only way to do this is to promote inexperienced Junior Chef's into the kitchen, and hope they can hit the ground running.

You ask the owners, "Hey, we need some replacements to replace the people who have left." The owners say "sure, we only have enough money to bring in 3 replacements. Their not as good as the guys who have left, but were looking to cut costs."

So, you bring in those 3 new Chefs.

Customers complain due to the reduced quality of food. Those customers stop turning up and stay at home to order pizza. Meanwhile, the owners insist their doing a great job and have reduced costs.

Investors approach the owners about taking over the business and actually investing some serious money, they even talk about buying the premises which your owners have been renting. The owners annoy the investors who then walk away.

Meanwhile, all kinds of Kitchen Equipment is going missing. Its the owners; Their selling it. Your main oven? Gone. That grill? Sold to the restaurant down the A45. Your low-fat fryer? Missing in Action.

You beg the owners for help. "Don't worry, we're cutting costs" they say. They mention getting some temporary Chefs in. In reality, they get one.

Then, one day, one of the owners says "Hey, I'm made myself Director of Cooking", despite him not even knowing how to make beans on toast, let alone fancy some 3-course meal.

By now, the former customers who were loyal beyond belief are on the verge of not giving a frack about TastyFood. The ones who brought the Eat Here for Less this Year coupons turn up, in decreasing numbers, hoping beyond hope that half the meal they've ordered won't be burnt, dropped, cold, mouldy, raw or just smelly like shat. The Junior Chef's are trying their best, but they're no match for the experienced Chef's working at YummyFood just down the road.

On Twitter, #LoveTastyFoodHateTheOwners in a popular hash tag. Every week, customers turn up, hoping, praying for a satisfying, whole, hot meal.

Every week, they walk away, muttering about how they should have gone to KFC instead.

The final straw is when you walk into the Kitchen. And you find the Director of Cooking all dressed up in Chef's gear, ready to observe you and your team in your kitchen on the busiest day of the week.

So, tell me......would you blame the inexperienced Head Chef? Who has been screwed by the owners?

If I got food poisoning then yes. If he wasn't getting the basics right I would complain.

Wow you must be bored.

Everyone understands he has had it tough but our squad is better than the 13 points it has accumulated so far this season.

Por analogy imo.

A head chef could walk out confident in his ability that he would be given the chance again, even if he has to start slightly below to get long term benefit. A chef who walks out wouldn't lose out on 12 months pay from being sacked. Thorn's position is different since failure here will result in no further chances thsi is a once in a lifetime position that he can't (or can't afford to) walk away from. His contract may not be as lucrative as some, but I'm sure his first responsibility is to his family and worth much more than his professional pride otherwise he would have walked the second Ken sat behind him. I don't blame him I would have done the same. I still firmly believe he should be sacked becasue he is under-achieveing. Even if we were doing as expected we would be struggling with these resources but we should still be (imo) in a much better position and still at the very least in touch with those fighting.

Not insulting you just making an observation.

I did join in also but you seem to have ignored the point I made.
