With the news that Malaga has been put on the transfer list (I believe he's the one that was reported as not being able to speak English rather than Edj).

With Robin's saying some more first teamers will be told they are surplace to requirements, im wandering who you think they'll be...?

I can see ROD & Macca being shown the door. I got the impression that Robins will either loan these players out or get them first time matches to make them more desirable to other teams. Macca probably falls into the latter (gets first team games until someone can replace him and he is sold on) while ROD would be the former (gets loaned out and then leaves on a perminant transfer).

As for others i can see people suggesting Bell, Baker etc...

Hussey would be another one id expect...

Kilbane, Bell, ROD and Hussey for starters.
It's just the case of someone wanting them. Kilbane should find somewhere, Bell will struggle as I imagine he's on a fair bit. ROD back over Hadrians Wall and Hussey on loan to a league two club.

My guess anyway.

Edit: Jeffers too, if he doesn't get a chance before January I think he'll be released.

If I were Malaga I would honestly be offended that ROD hadn't been transfer listed first.

I am glad that Robins is looking at the team and realising it's not good enough. Thorn, Shaw nor Carsley were able to identify this or perhaps none of them had the power to do anything about it. Robins is wringing the changes and I hope a few more follow Malaga out the door. However trying to make McGoldrick permanent should be a priority.

We won't get McGoldrick. Fisher already said that's not gonna happen. McGoldrick wants first team at notts forest. He's here to prove to them he's worth picking in their side. On his work rate and performances so far I think he's already made his case pretty solid! Plus we couldn't afford his wages even if we wanted too

He is in the last year of his contract, didn't Fisher say he was only here to get himself in the window for a January transfer to another club. He said we couldn't afford him I think

Surely preening back our "dead wood" should free enough up for McGoldricks wages?
Forests squad must be pretty big with the amount of managers they have been through over the last few seasons (Davies signings must have whacked their wage bill up somewhat alone?) so I can't see McG doing much up there again.
If, he is in his last year then they may just want to recoup a bit of his fee since he will walk in the summer (and don't we know all about that scenario) so perhaps, and I'm only guessing, we could get him for £500K ish.
Even if we are strapped for cash then SISU must see that strikers get you promoted and would stump up the readies?

At the end of the season...can't do it till then.

As for McGoldrick, yes I'm sure we could stump up the transfer fee but it's his wages we couldn't afford. McGoldrick wants championship football. He's here to make himself look attractive to other buyers. I really don't expect him to stay I'm afraid

For a start I doubt it will be Baker as Robins must like him as he's started and captained the side the last 3 games.
Mcsheff also has started so...?

If Malaga can't speak English... do you think he actually knows that he's been transfer listed?!

There's probably the need to ship out about 5, but I can only see two of them snapped up at best. Think we will again see more contracts waiting to run out.

Based on what little I have seen so far I would think these players may well be on the hit list.

1. Barton
2. Hussey
3. ROD
4. Jeffers
5. Kilbane
6. Wood
7. Bell

i dont think bell will go,

however we need to think that the loan signings Robins has got in are only till Jan so the squad will become smaller anyway.

i would like to see

ROD, KILBANE, MACCA gone and only because ive heard on here that he brings a downer on the squad HUSSEY.

i think Barton will do well if he got a bit stronger on the ball. get the kid on the weights!

1. Barton May be worth perservering with, on the basi that although he has underperformed there may be potential to be a top player
2. Hussey Doesn't look good as a defender or attacking bought by coleman never really delivered
3. ROD whoooooooooooooo ?
4. Jeffers Some here think he is the new Rooney
5. Kilbane Doesn't provide the leadership we expected minimal impact on the games he has played, not sure what would be his best position
6. Wood Seems to habe lost the plot a total liability at the back - seemed determined to give away a penalty in the second half v MK grabbing on to their striker in the box
7. Bell

When have you seen him shopping in Leamington 4 yers of excuses with a couple of good passes

Generally agreee, with one exception. I would keep Barton.....Given a bit of time & support, I think he could become a key player for us.

I would get shot of Elliot though......shite IMHO.

I agree with you but I think he will keep Barton as we paid for him and no one with half a brain would take him off us and Bell I believe will get the chance to impress Robins. If I had my way they would all be gone and I would add Macca to the list.

Before I start, it isn't actually aimed at you (you'll see what I mean!)

McG, imo, might not be good enough for Championship and if he stayed with CCFC, and we got promoted through his goalscoring, he's playing championship football and a fan favourite, which he already somewhat is.

Better for him stay permanently imo, but of course this is slightly biased.

I agree with most of the suggestions.
Hussey's an odd one for me. I think he does have the ability but the fans, coupled with a couple of bad games, have destroyed his confidence - therefore I would off load him but not soley on the grounds of ability.
I was so happy we got Kilbane but he's been absolutely dire from the games he's played - misplacing basic passes you'd get bollocked for in a kick about down the park, not making tackles and this fitness Thorn mentioned appears non-existant. He can sod off imo.
Sheffers I would have put first on this list but he's not looked as bad in the last few games. Even vs Arsenal he made some good chances for himself running down the left wing just ballsed the shots themselves up. He certainly didn't looked terrible vs the MK Dons.
Barton I wouldn't let go. As I've mentioned elsewhere, he has returned from a potentially career-ending injury but has still shown glimpses of what he can do. Made a few smart turns and passes vs the Dons but does need to get stuck in a bit more - especially in wider role.
Wood I would let go. High earner and has cost us 3? penalties recently through bad decision making. He can play exceptionally at times but I don't trust him anymore.
ROD and Bell have shown us over the last 2 or 3 years that they seem fairly inept so I would let go - but Robins needs to see it for himself. They may be different under his stewardship but that's for him to decide.

I doubt it. He's injured and Robins hasn't seen what he can do yet. However, if Robins reads this forum then Bell has had it.

My thoughts:

McSheff - I love McSheff but he has been pretty poor
Wood - Poor
Hussey- Should stay as Reckord will no doubt go back to Wolves eventually
ROD - Piss poor
Clarke - Overrated, can't cross, can't defend
Jeffers - a succession of managers have realised this kid can't cut it.
Brown - Send him back too.

Bell and O Don are not the sort of players that are going to make this club move forward... Both for different reasons, My opinion on Bell has nothing to do with ability, as i do believe he can play but his fitness is so poor he is not worth a contract. My opinion on OD is his ability is very poor and with his fitness ok, doesn't push any squad member to justify why he is still here.

Both are taking money and really not giving anything back, time to go with Hussey, Jeffers and Killbane....

He's only 20 years old Ffs. Not everyone's a first team regular at 19-20.

Not say he is good or shouldn't be binned but 'a succession of managers realised he can't cut it'?

Thank's Torchy Thought it was just me in thinking Clarke is shite. You have to congratulate Thorn on dishing out 3 and 5 year contracts to some at best average players Bell,Baker and Clarke. Lets not forget he thought this group of players could get us out of this league
