I'm after 75-80 points

Probably not quite enough for autos, but should be comfortable playoffs

We've lost:
O'Hare
Godden
Kelly

We've added:
Rudoni
EMC
Raphael
Dovin* (Caveat until confirmed)

Almost the whole squad have been together for a season and have a full pre-season together. Unlike last year when we took 10 games to get out of first gear because players werent up to speed with each other.
Do you not think we're in a better position now than 12 months ago? Even without additional incomings.

we're stronger because we've not lost the spine of the team this summer, the players, including binks have been together for 12months+ simms& wright got +/- 20 goals each in their first season, which is incredible, and second pre season together will just bind us more.

previous season we lost hamer and Gyok, arguably our core, then lost O'hare to injury, and still did well without them, there shouldn't be a time for gel, it should be the case of simply pushing on.

I'd like top 6 minimum. What I fear is an over expectation and what happens if we don't meet it, could this be the first time Robins comes under real pressure?

In which areas are we short ? I would've said GK but not now we are signing a new one

RB, LB, CM, ST, and that's if we get this keeper in, i also know we have players who can cover these positions.

but these positions brought in gives our squad strength in depth something we lacked last season.

You could argue there was more pressure last season with the huge amount of new players and the fees paid for them

Just don't think we'll be consistent enough.
I know the league hopefully looks a bit weaker this year, but hard to tell how the teams coming down will do, and we were 32 points off last season. Appreciate the FA cup run didn't help alongside a thin squad

7-10th is my guess. We simply don't have the strength in depth to compete for top 6 yet. Bring in another 3-4 quality signings then my tune might change. Think too many people on here are getting well ahead of themselves.

I'm not suggesting for a moment we will get autos but the new signings give Robins the ability to rest players , change systems within games and be more attacking when chasing games .

We need to bring in another couple of strikers and a CM to be in with a real chance.

We need one striker imo and definitely need another cm . Wright,Simms,EMC and Tavares( if retained) can all play centrally

As others have said. We've lost O'Hare only in terms of valuable input and we've essentially replaced him with Rudoni and EMC.

The rest are a year older and wiser, which is important at their ages.

The below chart shows our squad churn, in comparison to the rest of the league. That consistency will be important and we're adding bits of quality on top.

I really don't do predictions but there are a few; 'known unknowns'.

The training ground has had significant improvements from what been show here and in the local press. This must add to the confidence of City getting a decent finish from a better environment.

There has been changes in the coaching and fitness regimes as well, (or something like that) with another person who is due to come in. I think we all wish everyone who has been involved in this, past, present and future,, the best.

Also, new players as well, whom, according to here, have a lot of potential, and there's still more folk to come. This has got to add to the extra year of experience the players that have already settled down from last year and before, have, in the league.

There must be a quiet confidence in this.

Other than that, just squad size is my only concern for the duration of the season. Will it be enough? Only time will tell.

We seemed to have all this optimism last year and it quickly evaporated. I think talk of autos is a bit of Sky blue tinted specs. Challenging for those next 4 positions then definitely

Any place above where we finished last season is fine as its progression but it has to be a fast start and target top 6 maybe even top 2

Expecting a 10% improvement on last season.

That's realistic and achievable

I hope top 6, were on an upward curve, and long may it continue. It’s a competitive league, but we are a match for most on our day.

On a personal note, getting to many more games after time away due to personal reasons

I expect top 6. We don't have the excuse of gelling loads of new players this season and seem to have planned a much more organised pre-season program than we did last season. The new coaches should help our players develop even more. If we don't make the playoffs I'll put that down as a failure to be honest

After improving year on year, we took a step back last season. I’m sure the club was frustrated at not having made the playoffs last season . I think the back room upheavals we are seeing are likely a result of that. So at a minimum, making the playoffs has to be the aim this season.

The loads of preseason games and rigorous training should hopefully prepare us well.

No one wants to say it or even think it but let's be honest

If we bring in the needed striker and decent midfielder, Robins has zero excuse to not get play offs minimum

He's been backed with cash on and off the field for 2.5 years by the end of this season and King will simply ask 'why have you not achieved when you've been given all the tools asked for?'

Playoffs is a minimum now, although I'll accept eighth and a brown third kit.

Depends on transfer activity in the next month or so. At the moment we're alright. The players have had a year to mature or 'gel' as per everyone's favourite phrase last year. We should be pushing the right end of the table.

If we want to hit the next level though, we really need some proper leadership in the team. I would like to see a bit more experience and a proper captain come in. We've lost Kelly and one or two others, and having that level of leadership is something that can take a good team and make them great.

Yes we did miss leadership, it was something mentioned by some early last season . I would hope that Sheaf , Eccles ,Bidwell, Wright , MvE , Kitching and others would show a lot more this season in that respect . I would hate us to buy an older head just for the sake of it , could disrupt the harmony in the group

With the right additions, there’s no reason why we can’t be a top 4 side. There’s still a good 3-5 signings to be made.

Top 6 has to be the minimum requirement but wouldn’t be a sackable offence to not finish in the playoffs, imo.

I don’t think so.

Robins used the transition excuse for months. He won’t have that this time.

Everyone associated with the club will expect more from the outset.
