There have been some really good threads recently and Nick has made some excellent comments but for the majority I have difficulty to actually see where you are coming from. 1) NOPM guys want what? They say they don't spend money but then organise a picnic in NORTHAMPTON. They go to the Ricoh even they say they are neutral. 2) Other groups including the Trust - People, including me, want City back in the City of Coventry, but where do these people want us to play? At the Ricoh? Are you guys honestly suggesting that SISU pay between 400,000 and 1,000,000 pounds per season for us to play there? Are you saying that SISU shouldn't get any money from match days? I REALLY want to understand most of you guys on here and where you are coming from. Some say they won't go back to see the City till SISU leave. Are ANY of you actively doing something to buy the club? Don't you think it's partly your responsibility to help find new buyers? With most of you I believe you just like to have a few drinks and watch football, but like most football fans they expect business people to bankroll clubs and lose millions. Trouble is as mere supporters we don't get to choose who our owners are and this appears to be what most who post on this forum want.

The Council also seem to want to select 'who our owners are', they are also coming to the 'rescue' of yet another commercial business (namely Coombe Abbey).

Pity they haven't done more over the years to replace the manufacturing business that was lost and invest heavily in the City centre instead of allowing it to become a third rate
holy mess!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just sick to death of all the stupid 'politics' and the stance taken by ALL parties, I just want to support Steven Pressley & the exciting squad he's putting together and will be doing just that tomorrow PUSB!

We do need confimation of exactly how much SISU woud have to pay by going back to the Ricoh i have heard anything between £150,000 to £400,000 depending who you are talking to - in any case if they do not want to go back to the Ricoh then they should step aside and let somebody that WILL buy the half share of the Higgs at a bargain 4 million and then recive half share of the income as a starting point and appease the fans

I think we all want ccfc to get match day revenue but any reasonable and informed person knows we sold those rights for millions and so if we want them back we should pay, less than we paid originally of course because the crowds are lower.

To start with the picnic has been organised by Keep Cov in Cov NOT NOPM there is a difference some supporters of KCIC do go to matches if you are a NOPM camp you Don't..
I for one hate the owners but I am willing to go back and watch them when / if they return to Cov. Like most posters on here We just want our Club back FULL STOP!!!

Back at the Ricoh.. I have to admit to wavering on SISU out. I will not go while SISU are in Northampton. I am not a Northampton SISU fan and I need our Club playing in Coventry. If we return to Coventry I will find it hard to stay away.

With a basic comprehension in the use of the English language and a morsel of empathy it will be blindingly obvious what most of us want. Coventry City in Coventry and with any luck without SISI. I want to take my son, to watch the team of his birth city play in the city that bears its name, like my Dad with me and his dad with him.
I want to spend quality time with him, talking about 4-4-2 or 5-3-1 or 4-4-1-1(thats for SBT)... who might be being transferred out, or bought in, or if we can clinch a playoff spot or avoid a relegation dog fight. Or how we get to an away match on the coach, car or train. Where to buy the best pie and chips or a crafty pint on the way.
I want to be able to talk with/ meet mates before the match in the gloriously names Vormitory to share a joke or two. I want to have to queue to go to the loo. I want to be ordered to purchase a programme "before they all sell out" (?).. I want to buy a half time raffle ticket with the chance to 'win a 1000 pounds', I want to watch as countless punters try to score from the half way line into an empty net only to fall on their backsides in so doing.

I want Coventry City back in Coventry. Where it belongs and should be. The owners ran off with our team. I hate them for it. Those that cant see it.. you drive me mad.

Look we've moved on from the Ricoh so you don't have to worry about the council or ACL anymore and we'll be in our own stadium in a few years time. Plus SISu are bankrolling us whilst our new home is built so no need to go or to worry about the finances.

I want to see us back in Coventry at our new home, as promised by Tim. The longer we are at Sixfields the greater the financial burden on SISU who are covering the cost of us being there. Therefore why no planning applications have lodged is just bizarre, I don't agree with the move to Sixfields, howeverwe have moved on from the Ricoh but not from SISU. Therefore I support not giving them one penny more until we're back in Coventry in our new home.

James- I'm not certain if your surety with regards to moving on from the Ricoh is tongue in cheek or heartfelt belief.
In my opinion we haven’t moved on from the Ricoh at all as far as SISU are concerned- it is still their number one goal, with distressing ACL and co their primary reason for the ludicrous decision to move to Northampton. With projected business losses increasing due to the move to Sixfields, what other reason can there be for this disastrous decision?

Most likely outcome: return to Ricoh with phased deal which leads to greater revenues (when present deal expires with compass or renegotiated deal) and a purchase plan for the ccc portion. SISU once more viable will sell. They will NEVER sell when the business is at the bottom of a financial cycle.

How do you suggest people distress ACL? the charity game got them no profit and the ladies game got something like 300 people. It's already the case that pretty much none of us are giving money to ACL.

I don't want to be owned by SISU any longer. They have demonstrated they are using the club as a vehicle. Have no interest in football. Are not interested in engaging with fans (please don't insult yourself by mentioning Fishers forums). Have no respect for the city the club represents.
I feel alienate from Coventry City FC as they have turned it into SISU Hedgefund FC.

point 1) for me personally its nopm until at least the club return back to Coventry, that's COVENTRY not Warwickshire or Solihull borough. COVENTRY, as in COVENTRY City Football Club. At that point if shitsu are still at the helm i will have a long hard think about it as i do not want shitsu owning (i was going to put running, but i didn't want to spout lies) my club.

point 2) the only realistic option for playing back in COVENTRY (there's that word again, its almost like it's symbolic with the clubs identity) is back at the ricoh and no i don't honestly expect the club to pay 1,000,000 for rent. i expect them to pay between 100,000 or whatever the unofficial offer was and the 400,000 official offer. that is a far better option than 1.2million + matchday revenue that the rent strike and argument was supposed to be about(cough, cough, bullshit).

am i doing something actively to buy the club? no, i live in the real world hence i don't believe shitsu will build a new ground.

do i think its partly my responsibility to find new buyer? well i don't have money tied up in shitsu and neither am i the administrator so no, i don't.

its not like playing football management eh. well thanks for that exclusive i always thought it was child's play hence fish faces appointment.

being serious for a moment. all i want is a well administered club owned by honest owners with the fans at the heart of the club. i would kill for a bill kenwright at the helm, if the club was run like everton i would be delighted. if you don't isolate and divide your fans which is shitsu's only real success they but tickets to come to the games, buy the merchandise and sing for the team. seems pretty simple to me.

They sold them to keep from going under and sold them before FPP rules so I struggle to see any purpose in your statement.

So, if a man in a desert was dying of thirst and a chap offered him a bottle of mineral water for £10,000 who would you have sympathy with?

The council and its management company created an unworkable situation for the club and profited at the expense of the club and its supporters. It bought the last regime to its knees and now has helped to create this unholy mess.

To paraphrase Orwell.. "all sides are to blame, but some are more to blame than others".....we seem to differ in where the "more" has emphasis.. on this basis can you tell me on what grounds CCFC are playing at Sixfields?

Is it because ACL refuse to let them play at the Ricoh?
Is it because the Ricoh rent is now prohibitive lets use £400,000 for the purposes of the response even though it could well be less subject to administration approval?
Is it because the Sixfield business plan supports the move- i.e projected costs over 1, 2 3-5 years are less at Sixfield than the Ricoh?

Well my whole view is I refuse to watch the club play HOME games outside the city.

My main gripe with the whole Northampton move is that it's nothing to do with wanting access to extra cash from food and beverages. The owners bought the club thinking it was a quick way to get the Ricoh. The move to Northampton is just them trying to starve the Ricoh and try to get it on the cheap. I know that at one of the trust meetings there was a representative from Allan Higgs trust there who told the story that on three occasions they had agreed a deal with sisu who furthermore broke the deal on three occasions. This is why no one wants to negotiate with them. The fact of the matter is this whole problem was started when the club sold the old ground. Yes I think the rent was agreed with the club in the top flight and you can only blame the numpty that agreed it. Acl must take some responcibilty as they should have renegotiated a bit better. I mean at the end of the day if you fill the ground the more money they will make and the only way you will fill the ground is by having a competitive team out there. Maybe a deal which said if you get so many fans per game in you get a reduced rate, I don't know the inns and outs its just an idea.

But what really proves the point about sisu after the Ricoh on the cheap is the fact if we were playing at the Ricoh we would generate more than enough income to cover the 1.2million rent bill we had just by the extra attendances. So imagine how much extra cash they would get had they agreed to a lower rental payment!

At the end of the day we want our club back were it belongs, I personally do not believe there are any plans to build a new stadium I think sisu want the Ricoh. So instead of using our club as a weapon get round a table act like adults and either agree to buy the Ricoh or a better deal for the club in terms of rent.
