Think they have a good chance of beating Luton then it’s all up for grabs.

I think a draw in that is best for us , keeps blackburn in with a small chance

Without studying it, I believe there would need to be three final day specific results (including a loss for us) for us not to make it. That three fold, which will have to include a Sunderland away win in a tough fixture, should yield decent odds (presumably 10/1 plus).

So I shall be sticking a tenner on. If I must drive back from Boro feeling dejected and miserable at least I’ll have made a few quid.

Which is why I said a draw would be a good result for us. They need some kind of result to keep in it. But Luton won’t be a pushover. Look at Birmingham today. They gave it their all and their season is more or less over.

Which is bottom half of the table form whilst not playing well. In recent games they have lost to lower clubs. Blackburn had a hard run in. You claimed them to be one of our main threats. Just like you would have preferred a WBA win against Sunderland as they would have finished above us in the table whatever.

A win has put us in a very strong position. Only a heavy loss kicks us out of the playoff hunt. One of Blackburn and Millwall will drop points on the final day so a Blackburn win v Luton and draw v Millwall would keep us in the playoffs due to GD and H2H.

If we have a meltdown and lose by 3 or 4 goals then we could be in trouble but even then, Sunderland, West Brom and Millwall/Blackburn (all 6 points) all need to win. Sunderland need a 3 goal swing (our H2H favours us) and WBA need a 5 goal swing.

Overall, we’re in a good position. Meanwhile, we’ve won two of the last 3 v Middlesborough.

Wouldn't it go to goals scored with Sunderland? So if we lose and they win they're above us.

It’s a tough game and place to go, but unless Luton lose to Blackburn, Middlesborough are playing for nothing other than momentum going into the playoffs.

A draw sets both teams up nicely and twists the knife into their local rivals by denying them a playoff berth.

It’s GD then H2H (then GS) and because we beat Sunderland, they need to beat our GD.

Was just going to ask... anybody know what the rivalry is like with Sunderland??.... or do they fancy a crack at them in the play-offs to try to directly rub their noses in it...!????

A point kept Morcambe up though… not sure what’s in it for Boro to agree to a draw. Other than saving energy.

If it transpires that a point does ir for us, and it looks certain we will play Boro again... what price on Carrick sacrificing a few players in trying to nobble Gus and Vik!?....

You can expect some unbelievable performances next week in the mould of shit or bust - we need to not rely and others and execute what we need to do - if not you will all turn to shit and blame Robins

We hadn’t beaten Preston til we did. We never beat Brum until we did. How a completely different set of players did against each other is irrelevant TBH

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we finish 5th won't we be playing Middlesborough in the play-offs? They've already secured their spot so they have nothing to play for, and might rest players for pending play-offs, hopefully against us.

EFL rule book :-

METHOD OF DETERMINING LEAGUE POSITIONS
9.1 At the end of each Season the Club in each Division scoring the highest number of points shall be declared the Champion Club of that Division. Three points shall be awarded for each League Match won. One point will be awarded to each Club for a drawn match. If two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points their position in the Division shall be determined on goal difference, that is to say, the difference between the total number of goals scored by and against a Club in League Matches in that Season, and the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club with the highest goal difference. If any two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points and have the same goal difference the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club having scored the most goals in League Matches in that Season.
9.2 If two or more Clubs have the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored the highest placed Club shall be determined by the respective League records against each other, taking into account in order of precedence, points gained, goal difference and goals scored.
9.3 If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs then the highest placed Club shall be determined by reference to the following criteria, in the order prescribed:
9.3.1 number of wins;
9.3.2 goals scored in away games; or
9.3.3 in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 9.4.
9.4 Where two or more Clubs are tied after the procedures set out in Regulations 9 .1 to 9 .3 inclusive then the highest placed Club shall be the Club which has accumulated the lowest total number of penalty points (as determined in accordance with Regulations 9.5 and 9.6) following the completion of 42 League Matches in the relevant Season.
9.5 Each cautionable or sending-off offence committed by a Club’s Players in each League Match during a playing season will incur that Club a set number of penalty points in accordance with the following table:
OFFENCEPENALTY POINTS INCURRED
Any cautionable offence4 penalty points
Denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball10 penalty points
Denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent whose overall movement is towards the offender's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick10 penalty points
Serious foul play12 penalty points
Spitting at an opponent or any other person12 penalty points
Violent conduct12 penalty points
Using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures12 penalty points
Receiving a second caution in the same Match10 penalty points
9.6 Where any sending-off offence is subject to a successful claim for wrongful dismissal in accordance with the Disciplinary Regulations of the Football Association, any penalty points that the sending-off offence would otherwise have incurred shall be disregarded for the purposes of calculating a Club’s cumulative total of penalty points in accordance with this Regulation .
9.7 Where two or more Clubs are still tied after the procedures set out in Regulations 9.1 to 9.6 inclusive, then the highest placed Club shall be the Club which has accumulated the lowest number of sending off offences which attract 12 penalty points in accordance with the table set out in Regulation 9.5 (subject always to Regulation 9.6) .
9.8 If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs, then the Clubs concerned shall play off a deciding League Match or Matches under arrangements determined by the League

I feel like were gonna need that point, preston record at home poor and Sunderland away record very good.

And Millwall will be at home last day with the crowd behind them, they have a very good home record and Blackburn away record quite poor.
